Great communication beforehand about entry into the lodge. Very clean and tidy facilities with a great kitchen set up and plenty of room for dining and relaxing. Easy to find off the main road. Nice quiet location. Back door to our ensuite room was ideal for packing and unpacking our car. Would happily visit here again.
I had to make a last minute trip south to attend a funeral and needed some accommodation. I was so fortunate to find the Riverstone Lodge. The property is very well maintained clean and you can feel the care and attention that has gone into the place. Host Sandra was very friendly and the property is excellent value and fully met my needs. I will be highly recommending this property and be looking to stay again in the future.
We loved our stay at Riverstone, we were only here for one night but we would have extended our stay if we hadn't already booked somewhere else next. The place has a lovely vibe, the host is friendly and knowledgeable, everything is clean and the kitchen is well equipped. Would highly recommend this place!
We were looking forward to do the Tongariro Crossing, but due to huge wind and rain forecast, we could not go unfortunately. The host, Sandra, completely understood and allowed us to cancel 1 night, which we appreciated a lot, so we could have an extra day elsewhere. Thank you!nnThe property is great, as it has bunk bed shared rooms but also private room with ensuite bathroom. We stayed in the private room which was nice and clean.nnThere is also a shared kitchen if you want to cook.
We would absolutely recommend staying here! We had booked one night initially and then extended for another night to add a rest day at this location, as we felt very comfortable and at home here. Sandra was very friendly and helpful, and takes excellent care of the place. It feels like being in her home rather than in a hostel. We cooked some lasagna there from scratch - which also goes to show that the kitchen amenities are very complete! Thanks again, Alina & Conor
