What an excellent hostel! Small, homely, friendly, lots of good amenities, great kitchen and living room with fireplace, and lovely owner. It’s all you want, would fully recommend.nnThe bunks could improve: they are comfortable but noisy the metal kind.
Very pleasant stay at Riverstone. Felt just like home as we entered! Sandra was most helpful with all the information about what to do with our time around lake Taupo and always up for a chat.nVery clean amenities which seems to be something usual compared to Australia!nWill most likely stay a Riverstone again when we come back for the Alpine crossing
They were very kind to accommodate my needs being in moonboot after surgery.nnVery nice place and looked after. Well organised and reasonable price.nnGood size lounge and fantastic outdoor area for BBQ/picnic
If you're coming through Turangi, this is the place to stop!! Its a fantastic spot if you are planning on hiking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. I stayed for a few days but missed the hike due to rain and enjoyed my stay! The owners are super super nice and make sure you get your shuttles and such booked for the trip. I also appreciated their dedication to cleanliness! I met a handful of other solo traveller and had good conversations and fun card games! Stay here if you are coming through!
