Despite being situated in a lovely area I would not recommend this campsite. The owner is rude and unhelpful. We were standing in the rain waiting for the office to open as we got an unclear email about our reservation, and when she was there she made it very clear she did not want to help us and made it seem like her job was a truly a burden. We felt very unwelcome. Additionally warm showers were $2 for 7 min, wifi minimum package of 2gb was 20$, and the room looked rather shabby. I don’t often leave reviews but after having spent the past month in various lovely campsites, it was the first unpleasant experience we had and wanted to let others know.
Beautiful place, off the beaten track, some of the reviews I read were a little harsh, and after chatting to the owner, we had a great time, thanks again
Staff was very friendly & helpful Kitchen is pretty new & clean Showers costs 2$ for 6 minutesRooms: 4/5
My cousin is a permanent resident at Riverglen Holiday Park. I usually go there every long weekend for a couple of days. The location is beautiful in the bush with the river and water holes for swimming running alongside. The camp is well maintained and amenities are always clean. It is my happy place and always look forward to my next visit. Maybe one day I'll become a permanent resident also.
Great camp ground. Has a bus for band nights, also heaps of room for families
I love staying at thus campground. Staff are amazing and really friendly. They run a bus to the Coroglen Tavern for concerts which us a great way to start your evening. Great vibes. There is now a coffee van on site which has divine coffee and yummy bacon and egg muffins. Perfect for the "day after" food. River is nice to swim in and sit and chill at.
Awesome spot! Is pet friendly and the best spot for dogs. Our two where ao happy next to the river. We had a great private spot tucked in a clearing surrounded by trees. Was lovely and private and perfect for our dogs to run around. Thanks so much for a relaxing few days!Service: 5/5
We stayed here when we were going to a summer concert at the Coroglen Tavern. Its a very clean and tidy camping ground. I would say that its relaxed and not flashy, without site numbering or pretentious kitchen or toilet blocks but its got everything you need and its all super clean. The camp organises bus for the concert which was awesome and really well done. The security at the camp for the concerts meant it was quiet at night even tho we all got back from the concert late and we felt very safe. We would defiantly stay here again and take our inflatable pool toys down to the beautiful river next time when hopefully its not so windy
Amazing campsite for its price! Kitchen is equipped with everything you need and there even is a communal area with couches and a TV. All facilities are clean. Bathrooms are not the most modern ones, but good. Hot shower costs 2$ and I recommend to shower whilst there is daylight as the sensor for the light does not reach to the shower. There is no door to the bathroom itself, so it gets quite cold in there, too. Still, easily the best campsite in the Coromandel maybe even NZ for that price!
Nice, clean camping ground. I had a tent and a great spot with some shade from a small forrest which you can walk through a few different paths to the river in about 30seconds. Swimming hole is huge and very nice to swim in, surprisingly not freezing. Dog friendly. Friendly, helpful staff. Wi-Fi provided 500MB per day but both phone and internet reception is patchy. Kitchen is a little sparse with just one electric jug and 1 fridge freezer. There are lots of picnic tables scattered around camping ground and a covered veranda area with tables too. There is a lounge with tv, DVDs and lots of books. Quite a few options for day trips from this site. Whitianga and a few beaches within 20 min drive. I was there for 3 nights and would stay again.
