Specialists in New Zealand sourced alpaca and sheep yarns and fibre.
We have undyed alpaca in natural colours, and dyed alpaca and sheep in vibrant shades
Who would have believed that 6 years could make such a big difference to a life?
We emigrated from London, UK, to Auckland, New Zealand in 2006. And thought how wonderful the 'little city' was. Then we went touring. And came across our first ever alpacas. And joked that if we ever had a big enough back garden, we'd get a couple of alpacas.
Roll on five years, and we decided to move an hour south, to Miranda, onto a lifestyle block. Now we had a big enough back garden!
We started with four pet boys - two Huacaya, and two Suri. And here's a warning - alpacas are addictive! We now have 39 alpacas, mainly Suri, with another 10 due to our females at Christmas.
So - the next problem was - what do we do with all the fleece? We could sell it to a fibre collector - but Suri fibre is very special. We decided to try and do something with it ourselves.
Our alpaca fleece is processed into yarn by a specialist mill in Otorohanga, North Island, who also source some additional yarn for us too. Wool is sourced from New Zealand suppliers.
Natural, undyed alpaca is perfect for babies, and people with allergies, as alpaca has a high comfort factor, and does not contain the lanolin present in sheeps fleeces.
