A beautiful walk through a forest then out in the open with amazing views of mountains and over The Chateau. Like other reviewers have said, there’s some uphill and stairs but they’re really not too hard. There’s a bench halfway up if you need a break, and isn’t it true that getting to the end is always more satisfying when it’s not super easy :
Uphill track but it just ends somewhere on a hillside with a table but no chairs. It offers a wide view of the other two volcanoes with Ruapehu partly hidden by the bush.
On a clear day I expect this walk is beautiful, with the mist in situ i still found it beautiful and worth doing. Really lovely flowers all the way up which was nice, saw a giant bee feeding from the white flowers which I was told is the manuka honey plant.
Cloudy day! Can’t see snow mountains, but the views are still perfect. It is worth walking to the end of the track.
Definitely a good place to walk up as it offers very good view. Highly recommended.
