"Our collection of oriental handmade carpets, kelims and collectibles is both large and extensive. It has been put together piece by piece over many years with a collector’s passion and a collector’s eye. Taken as a whole, it is unique and every carpet in our huge collection has been selected by us.We have spent more than 35 years travelling up to and in and around the carpet weaving centres of the Indian Sub-continent and the Middle East, buying carpets, absorbing as much of the traditions and the culture as we could. This knowledge has allowed us the luxury of setting up various classic revival programmes, bringing back remarkable antique carpet designs and unusual combinations of colours that had all but disappeared from cultural memory."
