Resilience to Nature's Challenges - Kia manawaroa - Ngā Ākina o Te Ao Tūroa is focused on enhancing NZ's resilience to natural disasters.
The aim of Resilience to Nature’s Challenges (Kia manawaroa - Ngā Ākina o Te Ao Tūroa) is to enhance New Zealand’s resilience to natural disasters.The Challenge involves a range of research organisations working with councils, communities, business, iwi, and central government agencies. Focus areas include geological and weather hazards, fire, risk models, and resilience both in engineering and infrastructure and in society. It also includes coastal hazards and hazards caused by climate change.
The engine behind this work is a collaboration involving three Crown research institutes, six universities, and several independent research organisations. The Challenge is hosted by GNS Science.
