Ordered about an hour before closing. Food was ready within about 20 minutes. Ordered fries, pesto sandwich and lemonade. Lemonade was more like water and lemon juice maybe I was supposed to ask for sugar. Fries were ok. Pesto had great flavor, fresh mozzarella, Chicken cutlet cooked well-very delicious. Huge sandwich as well. All together the sandwich was just OK- maybe it was the sesame grinder that made it weird. Will come back another time very soon. Menu has lots of options.
Visited Reef Shack for lunch and was very impressed with everything we had! They’re really well known for their cheesesteaks, so we ordered a half sandwich of the Reefer Cheesesteak, which was super filling. The bread comes fresh from the Bronx daily! We also had the Jersey Shore breakfast sandwich, which comes with Taylor Ham Pork Roll fresh from New Jersey. I think it’s awesome how the owners of the Reef Shack go the extra mile to bring in things that are tough to find in CT like Taylor Ham! The wings had plenty of meat on the bone, and the homemade Italian ice sorbets were super refreshing. They have a ton of flavors to choose from, and I’d love to come back in the summer for more. The frozen lemonade is also a good choice! The Reef Shack is super laid back, and I really look forward to coming back in the warmer weather to enjoy their patio area.
The sandwiches are great tasting. I really like the food and definitely hit the spot. It was one of the better lunches I had in quite a while. Ordering is a little challenging, the cashier is at the ice cream side and not at the front deli-ish counter. So don’t expect them to say who’s next or try to catch their attention, you’ll be waiting there like me trying to place an order. Parking is tricky, there is a lot but delivery trucks were there, street parking. Atmosphere, I did not feel comfortable. It’s a cop place so I got two hard look from a plain clothes and marine patrol person while waiting. Overall, liked the sandwiches and definitely worth a visit.
Reef Shack is one of our new favorite spots in Fairfield. All of the staff are so nice and helpful while you are looking over their huge menu. They offer a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They are also starting to have longer hours each day of the week so you can enjoy for any meal of the day. Check them out if you haven't already! Pictured are their delicious tacos, which I would 100% recommend.
Not sure what happened to my old review, but this place is still 5 star after 6 months. I’ve had cheesesteaks both chicken and steak, their chicken little sandwich, a bunch of bacon egg and cheeses, cheese burger, and omelettes. All of them have a few things in common: quality ingredients, large portions, and a ton of flavor.
Hahaha Menu is cute here! We had the “Moms of Fairfield” and “Jersey Shore” breakfast sandwiches. Doesn’t open till 11 though. I kinda miss the old 7-11 slurpie but you can get boozy icees at the Reef Shack. Lol. Love the outdoor space here. Nice service and Fun vibe.
Ordered the reef out cheesesteak with no peppers, a da luke with avocado and egg, cheese fries and chowder fries. The order was right out exactly on time, the servers were quick and friendly. The food was expertly wrapped which made it easy to take home. When we got home the food itself had huge portions and was brilliant and tasty. Definitely worth future visits.
Great place for a really high quality sandwich. The bread is great, and ingredients are superb. They have the best cheesesteak outside of the Philadelphia area, but there are many great items on the menu to choose from, no matter what kind of food you're looking for. Definitely recommend.
I ordered a tuna salad club with fries online. Went to pick it up and was given a turkey and bacon club. Went back in for my correct order and waited 10 extra minutes for just tunano mayo or seasoning slapped between bread. Then found hair in my food. Not my first bad experience which is why I decided to review.
Giving the reef 3 solid stars because although good...there is room for improvement here. Came in during off-peak hours. Ordered a regular cheesesteak "the reefer" and waited the an average amount of time for it to be ready. What I got was a nice representation of that famed steak sandwich and there were some things I liked. The overall size was good the seeded roll was a very nice touch and the prime beef tasted fresh and high quality w/ the sandwich as a whole not being overly salty bonus. My only knocks were the "cheese sauce" which I found to be really thin and lacking richness or depth of flavor that and it steak felt like it was missing something... Maybe butter toasting the rolls or adding peppers n mushroomsif you're into those sort of things..or making sure the prime rib is sliced against the grain would push it over the edge idk. Guess I'll have to come back n try again.
