Generally cheaper on tickets and food/drink deals. Best to compare before heading to a cinema of choice. Comfortable cinema seating, and cafe/booth seating in the lobby area. Right in the centre of the Octagon.
We stopped into the Reading Cinemas on the Octogon yesterday. It was a good day for catching a movie. We were at the afternoon session so it wasn't busy and we pretty much had the cinema to ourselves. The service was excellent. We had a light lunch and the usual popcon for the movie. Very comfy seats in the premium theatre our movie screened in. The cinema and foyer areas were really clean and tidy. Overall was an awesome cinema experience!
It was fun, the movie we watched was great. Understandably, the food costs so much but the popcorn, which was $10, was still delicious. Even brought it back to Hamilton with me

Great service. Would recommend getting the fries. Seats are better than cinemas outside of Auckland. Would go for middle seating though as back seats make the screen look small
Public Holiday afternoon, Avatar, Way of Water, less than 10 people inside. Amazing.
I had been looking forward to seeing Top Gun Maverick since it was announced 5yrs ago. So I purchased tickets to the premiere screen and went along. Unfortunately the sound was low and although I ran out to tell the staff nothing was done about it. I loved the film but the lack of powerful sound did dull the enjoyment. Especially a film like this one! This cinema needs an upgrade so it can get better sound and also bigger screens. Especially with TVs and soundbars being so good nowadays. I will always support cinema as much as possible but not if watching it at home is a better experience...
