Story

Forged in 1978 from farmers’ determination to resist large corporations snapping up assets in the farming sector, the Ravensdown team is devoted to meeting its shareholders’ needs. Today, Ravensdown’s mission is to provide competitively priced essential inputs and world-beating nutrient know-how based on sound science and sustainable practices.

As a farmer owned co-operative, Ravensdown exists to optimise soil fertility and farm profitability in a sustainable way for farmers who seek to lift their productivity and lower their environmental impact. Beyond quality fertiliser, we provide nutrient management services, technical advice and essential farm inputs delivered how, where and when they are needed by our customers.

Ravensdown uses its buying power, supplier relationships, fertiliser production and logistical infrastructure to source, combine and apply precious nutrients for New Zealand soils. A comprehensive product range across agrochemicals, seeds, animal health and nutrition is complemented by a diagnostics and testing laboratory, a precision fertiliser application, pasture measurement and environmental mitigation consultancy.
