Great last minute stay. I drove up as the sun was going down and the owner was very friendly and was all set after a few minutes. Super cozy living room, clean well-stocked kitchen, and comfy heated beds, and a nice outdoor area.
I've walked almost the whole country on the Te Araroa Trail, so I can tell you with certainty that this is one of the best backpackers in New Zealand. It's a cozy little place with some of the nicest Kiwis around running it. I cannot recommend it enough.
