Dined here today, I enjoyed my meal of a seafood platter. My wife had the t-bone steak which was unfortunately very tough,disappointing when you're paying $45. Salads were nice but not available on separate plates due to past customers loading up and wasting it.
Standard pub food, and staff was accomodating. Steak was nice and tender. Although the size has shrinked over the years, but all the meal sizes are still pretty decent for the price. Beware, the shrimp cocktail comes with half plate full of thousand island sauce.
I was just passing through this cool town and stop in here for a quick drink with my old man, it’s really old fashion bar the way pubs should be, we don’t have any bars like this in Wellington, this pub have all the beer that every day kiwis want, they also have good selection of whiskey, the bar person was really friendly as well,
Must visit highly recommended. Restaurant well appointed, great ambience, service and selection of meals and refreshments. Meals are generous, great value and something for everyone's palette. I'll be back next time I'm bac in New Zealand.
