Came here Easter Saturday, fair enough they were very busy and but seemingly very short staffed as the same 2 waiters were seating people, running the til, making coffees and trying to wait tables - this made everything pretty slow. We had to ask to order. My husband’s meal was forgotten and by the time we were able to flag someone down to ask about it, we’d all finished. It became apparent the order didn’t reach the kitchen. His breakfast came out with no apology or anything. Was also annoying as by that time our toddler was getting restless. Worse still, I ordered poached eggs with a side of bacon. The side of bacon cost $6.50 for one measly rasher photo attached. That’s an outrageous price for one piece of bacon. Overall the food was nice, but far too expensive at $160 not a public holiday for 4 adults for breakfast and $6.50 for just one piece of bacon isn’t acceptable.
Friendly service with a smile regardless how busy it was! The staff were approachable and quick to respond without being too hovering. The big brekkie was unmissable, nicely prepared and was delicious! The hash brown was slightly over cooked but honestly didn’t really mind the extra crunch! The mushroom bruschetta was generous and had an abundant of yes you guessed it…….Mushrooms! Just needed the extra Balsamic dressing and a touch more Fetta would have topped it off! Kudos for the venue and service! Very welcoming and cosy!
Bloody beautiful. Nice open fire, 10/10 staff, clean accommodating restrooms, food was unbelievably good. Can't wait to go back and try other menu items.
We parked next to the cafe and shopped for take away and tried coffee and sweets in the car. Then my 7 year old son had to go to the toilet. When we entered the cafe when it was open, they said very rudely that they cleaned the toilet and we could not use it. Definitely do not go to this place when there are many nice places in olinda! !
Very disappointed. I haven't been to Range's in years. It used to be quite good with good service, and friendly staff. It wasn't very busy at all this time, service was slow, it took a long time for our order to be taken. We order the big breakfast which states on the menu "eggs as you like them", only to be informed that "today we are only doing poached eggs". Parking: Parking was hard to find. Olinda can get very busy on weekends.
I'm done with this place. I'm done with the same excuses of staff not turning up, or they are sick. If it happened once or twice it's water off a ducks back. Been going there since 2013 and they have always been good. But waiting 35 mins for coffee and dessert arriving before our lunch. Mind you lunch didn't turn up at all that was the last straw. It's a shame cause when they were fully staffed they were excellent. The beer was cold, the glasses were chilled, their scones were probably the best. Sorry ranges but we won't be dinning with you anymore but still wish you all the best and hope you can turn it back around to its former glory.
Toast selection lists several breads for $8. The list doesn't say a choice of / or anywhere... I ended paying $8 for 2 super thin slices of barely toasted bread. Condiments cost extra. A sausage roll or something would have been better value for money Fire was super warm and there was an atmosphere from a hiking group.
.The staff are inexperienced, inept and quite indifferent about it. I live here so try again every now and then. They are always slow and error prone and could care less. I’m gonna take up their table here a while and leave. Vowing never to return, once more. Sigh. Oh they have served others who came later. But have to be pointed to a table by someone before they do anything. And can’t do anything else.
This was a favourite eating place of ours when we lived in the ranges for many years. My husband and I dearly miss the hills and our home, and it was great to return last Thursday. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Ranges, as always; the people assisting were very friendly and helpful. A shock, an amazingly good one, was awaiting me when I went to the register, to find that a gentleman sitting at the table next to ours, had paid for our complete meal on his way out! I remember thinking, when I had a brief word with him when he arrived, that he was one of the nicer people in this world, and as we both have had challenging times health~wise recently, it was a joy to feel the decency of this fellow human being. My hope is that he might read this message of thanks from the heart. You lifted our spirits more than you ever could have imagined. There are no words that will adequately express our gratitude for your selfless action. THANK YOU
