Really enjoyed our 2 days here. We weren't sure after reading some of the poor reviews price for washing and line for showers but we experienced none of this and was pleasantly surprised and we extended our stay. It was such a cute area where you felt like you were in the bush with Kea but so close to townnWe didnt give this place 5 stars as some of the hobs in the kitchen area didnt seem to work and had some trouble with the outdoor elements. Another downside was the shower to rinse off next to the spa seemed to only run warm which was nice but could be a health hazard unless we were using it wrongnThe bar/spa/sauna on site was greatnSo close to town and would absolutely stay again
Super convenient accommodation. They have several options form lodges, backpackers hostel to luxury cabins. We enjoyed one evening there. Staff at reception was friendly and explained everything. Hot tub and sauna were closed for maintenance but didn’t look so great taking into consideration how many people were around - they are very small.nSuper quiet and parking on site, 2 mins walking to the shops and bars and conservation centre.
Loved our stay at Rainforest Retreat in Franz Josef! Our room was perfect for a long weekend away waking up to rain and birdsong was so relaxing. The view from our window set the perfect chill vibe.nnThey’ve got everything from shared cabins to private tree houses, so great for any type of trip. Staff were super friendly and even let us check in early Thanks again.nnThe Monsoon Restaurant & Bar on site was convenient for dinner and was delicious, staff were awesome, and happy hour was a win . Parking was easy, and the on-site spa & sauna were a lovely bonus. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a nature escape!
*SAUNA REVIEW*nnThis is a review for the sauna. The rooms were perfectly pleasant.nnThe website states a sauna but in reality it is a glorified shed which can barely fit 3 people in it comfortably. In addition the door doesn't shut properly and the staff are fully aware of this yet it hasn't been fixed. There is also no window to see in which means people will constantly open the door to see how many people are in there and let out the little heat that had built up.nnEither build a good sauna or don't advertise you have one as it is not worth the effort of using it. If you were going to book this place and were factoring the sauna into your decision, go elsewhere.
Top! Very happy from the start that we were staying here. Nice ambiance when you drive up on the terrain. It is a place where there are all kinds of different accommodation opportunities. We stayed in the tree hut deluxe which was absolutely wonderful, very comfortable bed. The place also has laundry facilities that came in handy. Overall, 5/5.
