4.4 some of the best fish and chips I have had. We ordered the snapper special, was delicious! Fish was cooked perfectly and broke apart while having a great crunch to it. Chips were solid, added a bit of salt to make them pop a bit more i think they are unsalted. Prices are fair for the quality you get. Absolutely would recommend a stop!
Fabulous tasting fish and chips on the wharf at Raglan. Looks to be straight off the boat ... straight into the fryer There's a reasonable selection of freshly caught fish available for you to choose. We had trevally which was cooked in a nice, crispy beer batter. The chips were lovely with tons of salt on them. you can order kumara sweet potato chips but they are not my thing No vinegar doesn't seem to be a thing in New Zealand but slice of lemon did the job !!! Small area to eat in ... or take your meal to sit on the wharf. Order at the counter inside ... pick up from the window outside. All fish cooked to order. Also available to buy is chowder, fish pies etc to take away. Parking: We parked fairly easily but we visited on a Thursday afternoon. I suspect this will get very crowded at the weekends when boats are being launched from the slipway. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps to the shops and wharf.
Fish was very fresh and beer batter chips delightful. Crunchy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Not greasy at all. Big serves.
I saw many positive reviews about this shop. Thought i will try it. The best fish and chips i ever had. Fish is so fresh and delicious. You can have your food with an amazing view of the wharf. I am 60 kms away from this place but i am ready to travel just for the food. Soo good.
Amazing location by the Raglan wharf! Fish was fresh and decent size, but the chips was a bit average. Can be a fun family meal experience with few other shops nearby to browse.
Really nice inside, food is excellent well prepared yummy as, fresh every day fish caught the same day. Toilet out side around the corner clean and well kept. Parking out front can be limited how every not far to walk from down the road. Next to the Warf people fishing and live music with out side seating area.
They make really great fish and chips. It’s a must if you visit Raglan. Only downside no vinegar to sprinkle the chips. We carrying our own next time we visit
Really good selection of fresh fish. Batter was light and crispy and one scoop of chips was probably enough to feed 2-3 people, portion size was insane. Would definitely come back here again.
Great fish n chips. Had snapper and Tarakihi with beer batter chips. Nice batter and good value. Came on a Wednesday so not too busy
Took over thirty minutes to fill an order for two. Everything was unsalted, including the chips. Corn fritters were uncooked dough on the inside. Without a doubt, the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had.
