Great hostel in a great town. Walking distance from everything you need in town. Well cleaned every day. Stunning views of the sea and Mount Karioi with fantastic sunsets on clear days. Staff are super friendly and helpful and the most sociable hostel I’ve stayed at in New Zealand so far, everyone is super friendly and welcoming.
This backpackers feels like it needs a bit of love. There's so much potential, but feels like there are a few things letting it down at the moment.nnThe shared kitchen is gross.nNot enough fridge space. Ants crawling everywhere. Equipment/appliances/utensils feel old and grubby.nThe daily clean from staff barely seems to scratch the surface.nnBedroom was alright, not heaps of space for bags, but ok.nnOne person roller skating up and down the wooden boardwalk outside the bedrooms throughout the day. Quite annoying when that noise reverberates through the bedrooms.nnBathrooms ok, again just feeling old and coule use some repairs. Warm water and good water pressure. Appreciated the hair dryer!nnGreat location, a moments walk from the main street of Raglan.nVery limited parking on site but free parking
Raglan is truly a magic place and this hostel has made that experience. Everyone is super open and friendly. Really easy to have a yap with people in the lounge. Laid back vibes. Ocean views. Can take a dip every morning. It’s a simple hostel but in a good way. Also it is clean and quiet at night. Thanks and will be back
The location, views I was at the Seaview room and vibe are great: young people, surf and good energy. But the rooms are very basic, no place to let your bagpacks, like lockers of something only on the floor, no plugs or light in the bed, no curtains for privacy and no wifi signal in my room. Bathrooms and kitchen are ok but dont expect too much. Anyways, it was a hostel so it gave me full hostel experience.
Amy behind the desk was fantastic! So helpful and kind, when we had a flat tyre she lent us tools to change it as well. Excellent! 8nThe hostel itself is lovely, clean, tidy and has a great vibe.
