Staff are great, really friendly. Good selection of books for a small library. Bring headphones if you need to focus, it's often noisy in there with all the kids. I forgot my headphones one day and it was tough going, kids running around the aisles shouting, had to leave.
Pretty decent WiFi speeds around the afternoon. Unfortunately it is limited to 30 minutes per device and the seating area was pretty crowded...
The woman there was unfriendly and I didn't feel welcomed. It is the first time I see a NZ library asking me to pay money in order to use a PC. On top of that, the toilet was out of order and she told me I had to go to the town to use the public ones. I'd definitely not recommend this place.
This place does not get enough credit for what they do. The staff we met were super kind! Helped us out. It costs to use the computer yes, but this is a tourist town so I don't think it's that weird. They have loads of other facilities to use and some good books, and the library card seems very useful for other things as well, like magazines etc. Will be back!
$2 for using a computer for 30 minutes. When I asked them to just print a document they asked me $0.20 per copy and $2 for using the computer to print. I told them that I just need 1 minute to open my email account and print my document, so 2 minutes at least but no way !! For me it's really a shame and no business minded at all to send the customer in another place when they can provide this service. Moreover, every time I was there, there were groups of German and noisy people who seems to do not care about others ! And the person at the reception let them act as they want. It's definitely not a place where you can studying or work quietly.
The woman there was really unfriendly and I didn't feel welcome. Was easy to get the printouts I needed, so 2 stars instead of 1. When I need some printouts in future, I will definitely not come back here
WiFi usage is limited to 30 minutes, patrons have to pay for computer use. Never encountered this in a library before. Strange staff. Most libraries in NZ have great services but not this one.
Very helpful staff and beautiful library.
I live here and tried to borrow the book, but one of the lady was very unhelpful and almost feel offensive. I’m very disappointed with the attitude of one of the lady here. Library is not the place to be rude. I’ll never go back to use the facility.
Enjoyed some time at the library reading a book or two. I did not expect an internet cafe like some of these other reviewers. If it's free wifi you want go into Queenstown central core and you can have wifi for free all day long and a nice cup of tea or coffee. Maybe it's time that people just put down the device for a bit and give your frontal lobe a break eh. Pick up a book or magazine to read...guess what, it's free. I didn't even need a membership. Thanks for reading to the bottom of this review. You obviously have a good attention span and intact frontal lobe.
