Hi el from your reviewed a month ago... Strongly agree with you about dine in at lunch time The portions of $19.50 butter chicken preferred with less chicken meat. They served me a very, very tiny gravy bowl. I has finished gravy with one nan bread. I have asked staff to take another one nan bread and rice home because not enough curry gravy to finished my lunch meal. He has advised me to order normal price for next visit.. I better pay $19 .50 for lunch somewhere else. Thank you..
Curry so good that leftovers the next day are just as much of a treat. We've both dined in and gotten takeaways from here before. Best chicken tikka masala around. I liked this beef korma too. Naan was very nice.
So tasty, fresh and hot, plus generous portions - loved the Tikka Misala Paneer, and the friendly service. I will definitely come back to try more dishes!
UPDATED REVIEW : dined in for the first time ever and i was so disappointed. the portions are TINY ! the rice bowl for TWO mains is the amount of ONE takeaway box and i know this because i had to order an extra rice and it came the same size except the top was flat and i asked for a takeaway box and it fit perfectly in the box ! not to mention the curry looks like the lunch takeaway container ! the portions are literally halved when dining in. the curry was also INSANELY salty ! it was painful to eat ! i don’t know what is happening with dine in but i was so appalled ! i really expected better. they don’t even send a server to take your order, there’s a QR code for you to order online with a service fee. prices are way too high for this type of service and food quality. things have just gone downhill since the Swagat rebranding. have the owners changed? i haven’t seen them in years or maybe they’re at the other location now. so sad. think i’m going to need to find a new favourite indian restaurant. ————— old 5 star review: 2014-2021 the only indian restaurant i buy from <3 have been a customer for years and years and am happy it still tastes as good as before. there are off times where the curry is a bit watered down but it’s rare. also love that the chicken in their butter chicken is tandoori-d which just really perfects the dish!
Worst Indian I’ve had in a long time. It tastes like it was cooked by a white guy with no concept on Indian spices. Rice portion was barely enough for half of the dish, over priced and overrated. You’re better off going to countdown.
Great service & short waiting time. Have ordered many different types of curry dishes and they were all excellent. If you're looking for quality Indian food, this is the place to go.Food: 5/5
I had to order from the app because I ordered before it opened. I asked for my order to be ready at 5.15 as I was driving home. I got a text message saying it would be ready at 4.41pm then I messaged the restaurant and asked if they could prepare it closer to 5.15 as I didn't want my food sitting around. I got there at 5.20 and the enteees were cold when I asked the server how long it had been there he said 5mins. Unfortunately for him I'd received a notification that it was ready to collect 20mins earlier. So I asked for hot food, they proceeded to speak in a different language and refried the samosa and bahji... our dinner was cold by the time we were home. On average I spent 60-100 per order and have been here several times. The portions are smaller the food is ok... really only go there because they have goat breyani. But I will go to north Indian in Beach Haven they are closer have better portions and the food is hot, the portions are decent. And they don't lie to your face, also you can see everything they do. Same meal would cost at least $15 less.
Order chiken biriyani, but recieved Kichdi with soicy chicken curry. I don't know how an inidan restaurant is in businesses with such worthless biriyani. They dont know what is Biriyani! Yukkk! My dinner is ruined!
Stopped by the area after bouldering to get something to eat. This place was the only one open around 2130. It was fairly empty and was told that they were closing around 1000. Even so, I decided to eat in. Grabbed a palak mushroom and naan. The curry was quite tasty and came with rice. The naan was crispy and was a good way to spoon curry and rice into your mouth. Really tasty curry for a decent price, $15.50.
I've ordered from here twice now, and both times I was super impressed! I always get the butter chicken but find it to be the perfect portion with a generous amount of chicken compared to other curry shops. My family also ordered the lamb and the chicken saagwala and were equally impressed with the yummy taste and decent amount of meat!
