Clean, pretty big, excited to see its upgraded form.
Decent station. I'm not a resident of Pukekohe, but it seems like the only connection to the rest of Auckland. Will be a lot more accessible once the electric trains can run here.
Be aware that trains are not currently running from Pukekohe Station until late 2024 to enable the extension of rail electrification and for the station to be redeveloped. In the meantime, free bus 394 runs from the bus stops at the station to Papakura Station via Paerata Rise at the same frequency as the trains generally every 20 minutes and are timed to connect well to and Southern Line trains at Papakura. When the station upgrade is complete, electric trains will run through to Britomart and the City Rail Link when that is complete.
Clearing up misinformation as well as adding my own as a frequent user.nn1. There is a public bathroom, it is contained on the bus station side.n2. The platform now has lifts.n3. Construction is completed.n4. Trains are currently slowed from here to papakura due to track conditions, are expected to speed back up by the end of next month april 2021.n5. Information pertaining to electrification of this portion of the southern line is scarce but it appears they are starting it soon.n6. It is an old station building with no staff onsite, however so is remuera, parnell and takanini.
It's a pretty good train station but it does take quite a while to arrive at Papakura because the tracks between here and Papakura haven't been electrified. But other than that it's a fairly good station.
