This is one of the best schools by far. Staff are very helping and caring. This school is so accepting of those who are new to the country. I know, some might read this review and say well ‘you don’t know better’, in which case please note that this review is being written by a graduate who went to a top school in Britain. So I know good when I see it. Keep it up Pukekohe High ! You guys are awesome.
I graduated from here about 2 years ago. All I’ll say is when I have children, they will 100% not be attending this high school. There were obviously the few amazing teachers that really helped make my school years tolerable
A critical assessment of the school exposes numerous flaws that damage the school's standing. The main concerns raised by the critic are the outmoded curriculum and insufficient resources, which highlight the obvious lack of academic rigor. The reviewer draws attention to a generalized feeling of disarray that impedes effective learning, from scheduling problems to disorderly classrooms. The faculty at the school is also under fire for what appears to be a lack of interest in and interaction with the students; they are accused of being unconcerned with the unique needs of each student. The critic bemoans the state of the infrastructure, arguing that it compromises the quality of the learning environment as a whole. Extracurricular activities are portrayed as uninspired and unsuited to a wide range of interests. The reviewer also complains about the school's communication channels, pointing out the administration's lack of openness and responsiveness. In summary, the unfavorable review presents a dismal image of a failing school that raises questions about its capacity to give students a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
My son was in this school. I have recently taken him out due to constant bullying, teachers failing to teach and using explicit language against students, students stealing, students lighting fireworks in classes, people putting inappropriate businesses on google maps for the schools address "Drug store" "Fight club", Pyrotechnics happening in bathroom stalls, fire alarm being pulled at least once a fortnight. Children getting their bags, phones and wallet taken and then beaten up. I think this school needs a good turn around. This is south Auckland schooling at it's best. I do not think any child should be placed in a prison like this.
I like my teachers : Especially Miss Bell; she is amazing.
One time i saw a kid jacking off in one of the stalls in the boys bathroom, he wont stop moaning.
To be honest I am in this school right now and I love this place but judging the past reviews I might say otherwise, But this is a great school. I advise you can bring your kids here. There is no real bullying I've seen here, So I would make it a 5 Star. Cheers, From Joshua Dance- A Pukekohe High School Student.
Horrible, horrible school will never ever be sending my kids there
What to expect from Pukekohe High School -a lot of clubs and extracurricular activities available at this school -this school has many resources for mental health like counselling and helpful deans and most teachers -bullying seems very rare at this school -free food 4 times a week, but runs out quick -hallways, mainly in the massey block are crowded between classes -expect about half of your class to be absent most of the time, mainly because of the amount of people skipping class -the students you see on their open evenings do not represent the majority of students in this school -the principal rarely interacts with students in this school, only really speaking to teachers, parents, and high achieving students -fire alarms get triggered by students more than once a month -police come here every once in a while because of a fight, and a security guard is always roaming around to “prevent” fights -boys toilets are in the worst conditon with graffiti, no soap, no paper towels. don’t come at the start of intervals as there are people vaping -expect year 9 and 10 to have a lot of students, but by year 11 the majority would have changed schools or left school
This school doesn't care about its students or their families. My daughter attended this school and got beaten inside school grounds and was sent to detention for "her safety and protection". The school advised us to go to the police station and make a statement, we did that and got told to go back to the school for the school to take action. The school sent us back to the cops as "we can not interfere with the students", the school said. The ones who beat just her followed her into the office and harassed her more and more. Don't send your children to this school if you want them to be safe and looked after. I can assure you, Pukekohe high can not keep your kids safe.
