This is one of the best schools by far. Staff are very helping and caring. This school is so accepting of those who are new to the country. I know, some might read this review and say well ‘you don’t know better’, in which case please note that this review is being written by a graduate who went to a top school in Britain. So I know good when I see it. Keep it up Pukekohe High ! You guys are awesome.
I have walked into Pukekohe High School today and when i entered i needed to go to the toilet. The only toilets that are open are the ones in the carpark. However, today when i attempted to enter said bathrooms, i noticed a note displayed the message that they were locked, with no further indication on why. It's quite weird as there are many toilet facilities available at this school, yet they just decide to lock them all. I think this goes against my human rights. I've even seen a kid pee on the field due to this. I don't think this is legal to do to a school full of children. If i could rate 0 I would. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS SCHOOL IF YOU WANT THEM TO HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE.
What to expect from Pukekohe High School from a student currently in year 11.nn-a lot of clubs and extracurricular activities available at this schooln-this school has many resources for mental health like counselling and helpful deans and most teachersnn-bullying seems very rare at this school as people tend to mind their own businessnn- disappointingly, from my knowledge talking to teachers at the school, many teachers come and go often and don’t speak fluent english as they are mostly immigrants that come here as their first school. these new teachers tend to leave as they get bullied and i have seen teachers crying in class. so props to all teachers for staying.nn- it is possible to get decent grades depending on the teacher and how many questions you ask them, but most people tend to get bad grades because of either insufficient teaching or discipline in classes, many of them tend to be loud and chaotic. these tend to be core classes, maths, english, science, etc.nn-free food 4 times a week, but runs out quicknn-hallways, mainly in the massey block are crowded between classesnn-expect about half of your class to be absent most of the time, mainly because of the amount of people skipping classnn-the students you see on their open evenings do not represent the majority of students in this schoolnn-the principal rarely interacts with students in this school, only really speaking to teachers, parents, and high achieving studentsnn-fire alarms get triggered by students more than once a monthnn-police come here every once in a while because of a fight, and a security guard is always roaming around to “prevent” fightsnn-boys toilets are in the worst conditon with graffiti, no soap, no paper towels. don’t come at the start of intervals as there are people vapingnn-expect year 9 and 10 to have a lot of students, but by year 11 the majority would have changed schools or left school
I saw some student doing some weird freaky stuff in the stalls he wouldn’t stop screaming “kursivvvvv help me” I don’t know why but someone else was edging with him
So my child went to this school and some guy kursivv threw a stink bomb and farted all over my son and gave him pink eye
