What an absolute delight - we had lunch in the company of George Michael the chicken, I had the most delicious pot of earl grey I have ever had, the toasties were crisp and comforting, and the scones were so melt-in-your-mouth exquisite that I hardly got a picture of the last bite! Lovely owners, the Puhoi Cottage Tea Rooms are an essential stop over or destination, don't miss it!
Nice to see reviews are answered. The owner has been here two years and does lack some charm as in another review. Scones are lovely, not offered butter though. Returned a cup, not clean. A nice garden setting and a good stopping off spot.
Very rich selection of homemade delicacies. The scones live up to their fame, and the pie was delicious. All the food is prepared with love, and the staff is warm and kind. The setting is great, gives a nice view on the rolling hills of Puhoi. Lovely experience
Really lovely high tea, especially for the price! Very reasonable compared to other places around Auckland. Everything was very nicely presented and delicious, with the scones being especially good. They were also able to provide a vegetarian high tea and didn’t charge extra for it which was really nice. There was a large selection of teas available, and they offered more teas when we finished the first pots.nThe service was great, both the owners were lovely and friendly, and they even got my daughter to help feed the chickens, which she loved!nReally nice setting with the river running down the back and the hills behind it.nHighly recommend!
Was a lovely, off the usual track surprise. Slightly on the pricey side but worthwhile the visit and support. Best scones ever which were gone by the time I had the phone out !! .
