Delicious food, coffee roasted and brewed perfectly and a great price. Friendly waiter's, clean facilities, good music, great atmosphere. Visit every time I come through Taupo - it's my go to Must try eggs on toast with creamy mushrooms
Had dinner there in October 2022. The crispy salmon and the fettuccine were both delicious. Service was also excellent, noting that there is a general staff shortage nowadays.
I had the fish burger and 2 pina coladas, absolutely amazing. My partner had the steak meal and was full until 2pm the next day. The customer service is great, I highly recommend.
So so sad that we could not enjoy the view due to smokers having the best seats Their smoke came into the Dinning room the only way we could enjoy our meals was for us to be locked in Food average , staff didn’t know a beer or wine ?????? Get better staff or train them up Tourist
Probably the worst meal I have ever had in NZ disappointingly! I don’t often leave reviews but I feel this required one because the food was so bad! 6 of us dined here and the only tasty part of the meal was the fries. The mussels I should have known not to order in a lakeside town but wow they were bad - the sauce was curdled and the mussels far from fresh. It’s unfortunate really because the location isn’t bad! I guess you could enjoy a beer here and avoid the food! The price you pay for the food makes the whole experience even worse!
This really was not for us. Lovely spot on the sea front. The kids meals looked like it had been deep fried twice. The caesar salad was OK, pricey for what they serve.
Went for a quick coffee and ended up with the full lunch and drinks. Great service at great location at lakefront. Food was fresh and well prepared.
We often call in here as we pass through, several times a year. On our arrival to order our food there were a couple of people at each till. So we waited in the middle of the bar, and for some reason everyone got served around us. One of the bar staff told us there were two lines and pointed them out. So we went and stood in a line. But still other people around us got served that were not “in the line”. I had to ask if we were going to get served. Very disappointed
I'd give half a star if I could. Both of our lunch meals were awful. Had the Buddha salad and it was supermarket coleslaw drowned in mayo with 2 cherry tomatoes, 4 rounds of falafel which could have been from a frozen packet, tiny bit of avocado, 6 edamame beans and no beetroot hummus as per the menu. Lacklustre cheese buger and fries. The cheese square was not even metled. These meals has absolutely no love put into them whatsoever. The best part of the meal was the glass of wine. I gave my feedback to a staff member who to his credit was receptive, and he offered a drink as an apology. $86 for a lunch which left a very bitter taste in our mouths and pockets. I get that there are ongoing staffing issues related to covid, especially in a tourist town like Taupō, and possibly supply issues following Cyclone Gabrielle but you can do better Pub N Grub. I do not recommend this place at all.
Been here twice for lunch and the service is always great very friendly the food is yum great portions and reasonable prices.. Definitely recommend this place
