In 1997 I left school and enrolled in the Diploma in Fashion and Textile Design at Northland Polytechnic where I graduated in late 1999. I have worked only 2 full time jobs in my life (well paid work anyway ;) ), one as manager of a Fabric Store for 2 years, and then as Manager of The Importer Rotorua for 7 years before having my children. Whilst working full time, I also studied Interior Design by correspondence. After the birth of Noah, now 6, I began to sew and gift a few bits and pieces for kids to friends and family. I was always hearing "You should sell these", and so 'Potamus' was born.
Potamus is the name my husband gave to me when I was pregnant with my first son, Noah. Originally I thought he was calling the baby Potamus. After I decided to use it as my business name, he set me straight on the true meaning!
Our little family has now grown to include 4 year old Will and 15 month old Lily.

All items are created by hand, so no two are identical. Please allow for slight variation from what is shown in the photos. I'm a one-mummy business and I usually make your item when you order it. I try to post the same day as payment shows in my account but please allow me a week at the most to get your item made and posted out. I am a busy Mummy first and evening/weekend creator second. :)

My cogs are always cranking, so please keep checking back, and feedback is always appreciated.

PAYMENT - Payment is by NZ bank account. For international purchases I offer payment via Paypal. Unfortunately payment by credit card is not available. I offer layby on purchases over $50 in total. A deposit of 25% is required and payment in full is expected within 4 weeks.

SHIPPING - I offer a flat rate shipping of $4.95 anywhere in NZ, regardless of size and weight. No extra charge for Rural, but this does exclude PO Box numbers.

For international shipping, please PM me with a description of the items you wish to order and I will return to you promptly with a shipping cost.

RETURNS -

If you are unhappy with your item when you receive it, I am more than happy to provide a refund provided the item is returned to me unused, unworn and unwashed in the same condition it was received in. Refunds will be for the purchase price only and not any postage costs incurred.

If your item has a fault, I will happily repair or provide a replacement promptly.

All disputes must be received to me within 30 days of purchase. I cannot offer a 'guarantee' on my handmade items but I will always work with you to provide a solution should a problem arise.
