This area of NZ is just spectacular!
I have to say it's beautiful, and I would have likely given it 5 stars if the trails were actually open. We got about 10 minutes into the hike before we came across a gate stating it was closed.
Absolute must do. Visit Ken to hire some kayaks and head up the Porarari River for some amazing views.
Did a short kayaking trip up here. Absolutely gorgeous - felt like Sam and Frodo! There's enough of a challenge going upstream from the ocean which makes it quite fun on the way back. Highly recommend an adventure here.
Beautiful to kayak up or walk along river track. Gorgeous nature surrounding it.
