Pop-up Globe
"Pop-up Globe is the world's first full-scale, temporary, working replica of Shakespeare's theatre, the second Globe. Originally opened in 2016 as a one-off to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, it proved so popular and successful that it became a semi-permanent fixture in Auckland, and has since toured to Sydney and Melbourne, playing to over 550,000 people in 30 months. Pop-up Globe is both a theatre and a production company, making all of their productions at their headquarters in Ellerslie, including wardrobe, scenic workshops and a permanent artistic and administrative staff. Pop-up Globe has won multiple awards both in New Zealand and abroad, and is regarded as one of the most successful new theatre ventures ever."

An amazing take on a historical play. So well acted, original, authentic perspective on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Standing as a groundling let me have a unique opportunity to have the actors running between us, and getting covered in blood splatter machine washable and water was totally different and I LOVED every minute of it!
Fantastic experience. It was always on my bucket list to go to a Pop up Globe theater and it surely paid off! I loved it! Such a unique experience. Took the $10 standing ticket. Bear in mind these concerts are 3 hours so wear comfy shoes NOT heels haha.
This was my fourth visit to the Pop Up Globe in Ellerslie. What a fabulous venue for seeing some culture and such great ambiance. You really feel you are back in Shakespeare's time. So sad it's being pulled down as ''Emilia' is the last play to be performed there.
Absolutely amazing performance of Much Ado About Nothing! It just got better and better as the show went on. Great theatre, very good value for money, especially if you want to stand in the groundlings. Great cast, fantastic adaptation and great variation added to this classic.
Oh gosh, this was so much fun. Best rendition if Shakespeare ever! That photo is from the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet. Epic! Even my 7-year old enjoyed it.
Awesome experience and cool place. Went here once at the end of the season, but will be coming back next year. The atmosphere is unbelievable, actors are terrific and the whole thing is just fun.
