This event is no longer being held
Pokeno Wheels and Heels Special Announcement.
The Pokeno School regrets that after careful consideration it can no longer run the Pokeno Wheels and Heels Cycle event. Increasing costs and difficulties resourcing the event has meant that the school has had to make this difficult decision.
This ends an event that has run for 14 years. The School wishes to thanks all cyclists and sponsors that have supported the event over the years. Pokeno School especially wants to thank Denne Parkinson who had the initial concept and developed the cycle ride, Winstone Aggregates, Kerry Dines Ltd, Neville Jamieson of Century 21, Sunset Cycles, and 239 Bikes for their sponsorship. Gordon MacCauley and Karl Murray who year after year came and rode the event with their teams. We would also like to acknowledge the Pokeno School PTA, the Bombay, Tuakau and Pakeke Lions, St Johns and ExcellentEvents for all of their help with organising the ride.
Pokeno School wishes all cyclists a safe and enjoyable holiday time.
