Have enjoyed my kids being in this school and understand circumstances around some big decisions it’s made in the last couple of years. I don’t agree with all decisions but with a growing population, community revival, increase in diversity/multiculturalism, etc; the school has done well to embrace change, considering it’s rural roots. Those decisions won’t please everyone; like replacing an Agriculture Day with a Gala, but most families who’ve moved in are not rural/farming families, and so adapting their kaupapa has understandably occurred. I’d like to see changes made towards a mix of old school and modern education methods. I miss the old emphasis on homework, but I’m happy to do that myself. Am loving the school embrace cultural language weeks and love performances they put on- would love to see more of that. All teachers my kids have had so far have been great and my wife and I have ample opportunities to have discussion and open communication about our kids’ progress.
Poor standards when it comes to informing parents of information regarding children's education even with proof of court order and guardianship rights. Over crowded classes no real place space. No sense of belonging. Also as a rural school do not support AG or Calf Club days like the rest of the local rural schools do "because they have no farming families" - you don't need to be a farmer to support such education and belonging to a community. Very rude receptionist. Regret agreeing to moving my child there. Bring on high school.
No set homework. Not very strong on homework or any type of work. Too relaxed. Growing school that needs to really lift their teaching standards up. Lovely school but needs to be more focused on giving homework and being more active on the academic side. Not fun and games when the kids should be learning something
Good teachers, close community. Extends even after leaving the school.
