Great variety of flavours and couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the prices. They also have dairy free options which is amazing and the dairy free flavours are just as good. They come in a cone only but if you want a cup or a waffle cone you only have to pay an extra 20c which is incredible value for money. I love this shop and will be back. It’s worth the drive and is iconic
Lovely friendly staff and an amazing selection of ice cream flavors. It's a very popular spot, so there may be a queue sometimes, but it's still worth the wait They also still have goody goody gumdrops which is great but do get there before it runs out that is if it's a favourite. I'm still not happy it's being discontinued
We stopped here on our way to Auckland from Hamilton. Although not the best ice cream I have ever had, this was super tasty and really good value for money. I had the butterscotch pecan and the rum and raisin, both delicious. I would highly recommend visiting and have paid far more for ice cream nowhere near as good.
Was expecting the ice cream flavours and ice cream itself to be very gimmicky but was proven wrong with the taste. Definitely the best ice cream on the side from a side road!

Stop in every time we pass, for nostalgic reasons and for the delicious and cheap ice cream. It's always pumping. Great options for lunch and snacks, but don't get the cream pancake. It sucked. Battered fish bites are god tier.
I shall say the Legendary Original Pokeno Ice Cream. On a average day, there is always a queue outside the shop. 20 plus flavours and up to 10 scoops, this is heaven for ice cream lovers. I saw so many times some one checked in this place on Facebook. Great value and services. Highly recommended!
Was a little disappointed at our last visit. We live internationally but always make an effort to come here. Ice creams weren’t as big as last time, had them choc dipped one fell in the chocolate pot the lady just sat it back in the cone….obviously it’s gonna fall off. I had to ask for a container to save it then they charged me for the container, should have just really asked for a whole new icecream. We ordered a few I had added it in my head the guy tried to charge me an extra $10. Upon sharing this experience with a relative she said they had tried to charge her extra on a seperate occasion. I just wonder how many people they attempt to do this too, especially those who don’t live locally.
Although they sell Tip Top ice cream now, service is still great. Took the family there and they enjoyed it. Must stopover for a short break treavelling from or to Auckland, pretty much on the way if you don't mind a little detour for a break. Definetly must try! Going back again next time I can go back to NZ.
Really good ice cream, one huge scoop for just about $2. Service can improve a bit though. The lady serving us was unwelcoming and impatient, but seemed friendly with the other customers. Nevertheless, worth the visit!
