We booked the long lunch as we were staying a beautiful Air bnb next door and obviously needed to try Poderi Crisci! We were greeted with energy and very welcomed at the start but as soon as we declined the house Pinot Grissio as we weren’t in the mood for bubbly and asked for the cocktail recommendations our server said ‘I don’t recommend any of those to start’. So we obviously didn’t order any… We ended up getting a wine and a ginger beer, then the service declined for our table and we weren’t getting a wine for each course and it seemed we weren’t worth the servers time he was very attentive to the tables around us. The food was ok, the lasagne was the only stand out dish, the tiramisu was too soggy but the flavour was good. We still spent almost $300 but it left a bitter taste in our mouth due to the service, won’t be returning, there are way too many amazing places on the island that are worth spending your time at more than Poderi Crisci.
We had a 5 course degustation booked. A warm and lovely welcome, their grounds are peaceful and serene. Really encourages you to relax. The waiter assigned to us was nice. We had an initial confusion as we had some dietary restrictions which they didn't listen to fully. Had a pescitarian, 2 that didn't eat beef, and I that didn't eat pork. But got there in the end. Had our request for wine pairing disappear so we lost 1 pairing. The food was nice but we noticed the portion sizes weren't all the same, some of us definitely got more than others. The wines paired were delicious, the food was great. I'd be interested to see what their long lunches are like but perhaps a future trip.
An idyllic, Italian inspired vineyard and restaurant with wonderful wine tastings, great food and a fantastic atmosphere. The service was top-notch and we enjoyed getting slightly tipsy over the course of our wine tasting. Wine tastings are free if you purchase a bottle afterwards.
We booked a long lunch here and what a great afternoon we had. The food is stunning and it feels so wholesome to see the areas on their property where the produce is grown. The atmosphere and service was fantastic. Such a fabulous find. We will definitely be recommending the winery and the long lunch option.
Really beautiful, excellent food especially the pasta!! Forgot to take photo of the pasta, the tiramisu is also outstanding! Will definitely recommend if you want some real good Italian food in Waiheke Island!
Absolutely fantastic place! Such a stunning venue and amazing staff. We were well taken care of as soon as we arrived over an hour before they even opened by James and his capable and friendly crew! Their wine was fantastic accompaniment to our long lunch, which we thoroughly enjoyed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! Turn up, sit down, enjoy the ambiance and let the restaurant take care of the rest. It doesn't get any better than that! Thank you James and team, we had an amazing time and will definitely be returning.
Delicious Food, Attentive Service and Beautiful Location. The gnocchi was the best I have ever had, so light and fluffy. The steak was the perfect size and the sides it came with were delicious. Such a nice vibe when sitting outside.
When lunch isn't a rush and total enjoyment is the goal... Then this is the place. Delicious, flavoursome fare, presented perfectly, with accompanied wines.. No rush, the hours pass without concern as each course is consumed with delight and satisfaction. A perfect lunch in a perfect location.
Everything about this place was amazing,the setting,the food,wine and the staff It was like spending the afternoon in Italy... we opted for the long lunch with wine match and so glad we did,everything was so fresh and cooked to perfectionthe vegetarian lasagne would have me converted and the tiramisu is probably the best Ive had before our last two courses we went for a wonder around the gardens and even had a look and chat with one of the winemakers in the cellar We have been recommended this place from our friends and absolutely can see why they loved it,we are going to recommend it to everyone too
Lunch was delicious- there was a LOT of food over the course of the afternoon. We found we were left waiting a long time when wanting another drink and suspect wait staff may have been on a break? Before desert we were informed that the chef recommends the Cheeseboard. We believed this was as the desert of the day and realised once desert arrived we'd been sold an add on without this being made clear. A great experience but would have appreciated more clarity around the cheeseboard.
