Loved this wee camp ground. Close to the beach, nice clean amenities, and reasonably priced. Just a note, very close to the main road and train.
If I could give more stars, I would! $20 p/n for up to 2 adults and 2 kids. Every campground should have a reasonable price like that. Animals are also welcome. Lovely hot showers with great pressure, and nice clean toilets. Beach is beautiful, clean and superb for fishing. We even rescued a little blue penguin who was injured and in trouble. He is on the mend now. 100% will be back.
Awesome campsite for pricePLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THAT!! , clean Maintained toilet/showers ...9/10 locals/campers/tourist are friendly or keep to themselves, Has been beautiful weather, great comfortable camping area. Loads of fisherman/woman. Threw a line out or two not very lucky However not really keen fishing people OVERALL 5+ ..YES IT DOES GET NOISY TRAIN/MAINROAD, if that's not for you then find somewhere else we love & enjoyed our stay. Will continue to visit/stay Only moan is towards dog owners wether camping or stopping in NOT ALL PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG TAKES A DUMP!! DONT BE IGNORANT BE RESPONSIBLE!! GRATITUDE & THANKS TO THE OWNER & KAITIAKI OF THIS WHENUA
This is an absolutely beautiful spot on the stunning East Coast. Fantastic for camping or even just a stop to enjoy the view. Would have loved to have spent more time there. The bathrooms are well maintained and very clean.
Train runs through the night, be warned if your in a tent it will sound like it’s going to run you over, awesome showers, fish and chips down the rd from the pub are superb
A great place to stay, goid showers,toilets always have hand wash and are clean and tidy.
Lovely campground, right next to the sea. Lots of beach to let doggy run and swim. Water at sites. Toilets available. Large trees to park under. Just the noise of trains and traffic right throughout the night makes it difficult to sleep.
Great place to stay! Loved it. Clean toilets/showers. And permenant long term campers were friendly.
It's rather exposed, no gates or warden. I was looking there to camp but I'm not sure I will as it doesn't seem a god spot for tenting and leaving belongings. I haven't stayed there, just parked up and checked out the beach. Looks tidy just my only concern is public access. Nicely sheltered with cliff behind. Train track runs beside but this happens at all campgrounds along matata.
Beautiful place right by the beach $20.00 per night cheap price toilet block available looking forward to camp here in the future
