Warmhearted hospitality, conscientious care. The campground kept nice, equipped with kitchen and laundry. The Tasmanian Sea and the big rock is enchanting. Fiona and Martin went above and beyond to make sure our needs are met. We arrived from overseas a bit late. Fiona not only waited for us, but when she learned that we came straight from the airport without grocery shopping, she gave us handmade vegan soup, bread, coffee and cookies. Not just that: because of the big storm and rain we expected overnight, she sat out to the river to check whether it was flooding or not, to ensure she warned the camp if we needed to evacuate. We didn't. It surely was some higher power intervention to made me lose my key the next day at the Tasmanian Sea that got me to stay an extra day in this Earthly Paradise. Never forget. If i can, i return. Thank you!
This beautiful campsite is a 10-minute walk from Black Sand beach. We were able to book a place online at short notice. With a Mercedes Explorer, getting there on the winding road was a bit of an adventure, but the sunset on the beach was worth it! The small inconvenience with the clogged toilet was treated with understanding and thanks
We arrived at the motorcamp, weather was so beautiful. Greeted by a lovely woman. There Was a playground nearby which was amazing for the kids as I had little ones aged 4, 6 and 11. It was a beautiful campground, and we thoroughly enjoyed our first True camping experience. The only downside was the showers, I have a one year old and the showers were too hot to put him under so I had to splash him with water instead. I had also paid for a campsite but we had to share with our friends as someone had taken our campsite the day before we arrived. I guess if we were sharing a site we really should have only paid half. Other than that, it was awesome and love that Lagoon was only 5 minutes walk :
Thanks for the stay. Really enjoyable. Easy to book online. Check in at the office and receive a dongle that opens the main gate and gets you into the shower/ toilet block. Also use the dongle to turn on the hot water in the shower. Plenty of hot water and good pressure and everything clean and in good working order. We had an unpowered tent site. Nice grass, flat and lots of choices. As always with this campground is the one minute walk across the road to the Piha General Store for great coffee and pastries. There's also the cafe next door for lunch. Nice and safe for kids to ride their bikes or scooters and there's heaps of beach or bush walks nearby.
Interesting beach with greyish black sand that is too hot to walk on barefoot. Otherwise, seems mostly attractive to surfers and sand playing kids.
This place is just perfect. Very family friendly and quiet after 10pm. Playground for the little people is epic. Short walk to the beach. Few nice eateries close by. Toilet and shower facilities are clean and spacious. Kitchen is basic but provides everything you need to cook a proper meal. Reasonable priced. This was our 2nd visit and we'll be back. Thanks guys
We had a great stay at the Piha Domain Motor Camp. The owners were friendly and open for a nice chat. The toilet and kitchen facilities were clean and well equipped. Please note that you can only book online, there's no way to book at the Park itself. And which was a bit frustrating for us it's 2 night minimum stay. As we really wanted to stay in Piha Beach, we had to change our travel plans. With only four weeks of vacation, it's not too easy and we were annoyed, that there was no other way.
Lovely little spot to camp at with access to the beach and walking distance to Kitekite falls. Campground is rustic, bathrooms are clean, host's incredibly friendly and welcoming. Felt right at home when we arrived.
Awesome campsite beautiful site, great kitchen and walk in fridge. Our daughterloved the playground. Martin and Fiona are great hosts making you very welcome. Love all the quotes in the loos and kitchen.
Good spot. Care, sandflies will chew you up. Facilities are there, shower included with a timer of around 15 seconds. It is very hard to try wash your hair without have to open your eyes into the soap to try find the water button at some point. I probably spent twice as much time showering since I had to wash with one hand with other holding the shower button in. Despite crit feedback this Location and other parts of the campsite are good.
