Such an iconic book store! It has a great range of books and they are open to trade as well. I love that we still can have an old school book store in our town.
Best secondhand book store I have ever been to. Amazing selection and pat the gorgeous cats while you shop.
A lovely place with a huge amount of books to choose from. There's a children's section with some toys where my 1 year old could play. The staff entertained her inbetween business, so I could browse. Great service! Worth to pay a visit.
The Piggery...books ranging from non- fiction..fiction.old books, new books rare books great service and help....and even a shops cat...ahh that special scent that books have..and even off-street parking. Something here for all book lovers.

Excellent book shop. Thousands of books all sorts, most in good- excellent condition. Friendly woman, who is really informed about what's there . Many organised categories helps with searching . I recommend it. Child friendly
I like second-hand bookshops in cities that I am visiting. This is a really really good one. A great balance between interaction with customers and leavung them to browse. It was totally worth an hour or two of our time.
A great selection of books from all ages and genres. The store is reasonably well laid out and prices are good. Disabled access is very poor however with low manoeuvrability and a difficult doorway.
My absolute favourite place to buy & exchange books. Excellent value & so much to choose from. And they know what genres I read so recommend new authors. My son asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year and I asked for vouchers for the Piggery. He'd never been in there but as soon as he did, he knew why it's my absolute favourite bookshop. I even found a first edition Winnie the Pooh for my grandchildren. Still the absolute best bookshop in Whangarei! Whether you're looking for a favourite author, a travel guide, a cook book or a book that reminds you of your childhood, a simpler, gentler time for your children or grandchildren. I can't think of anywhere else to go. Oh, don't forget to spend a little time with the shop cats! Books + cats + sofa....what's not to love?
Great shop if u into "real" books & fantastic selection of all genres. Chloe the lady who runs it is very friendly & a real sweet heart. Definately worth going too
