Joan and Terry are very friendly and helpful. Pigeons Rest is at the high point of the Twin Coast Cycle Trail, Pou Herenga Tai, so this is a great place to base yourself to do the trail downhill in both directions from here. Joan and Terry offer a shuttle service to bring you back to Pigeons Rest when you have finished cycling for the day.
Sometimes our busy lives gets in the way of the important things like writing a review about the best experience you had ! Sorry Joan and Terry . We stumbled upon Pigeons Rest by chance although I think it was meant to be . We needed long term parking while building a house in Coopers Beach . As always things takes longer than expected and and we end up staying for a few months . The place is and peaceful and calm and thank you Joan for all the fruit and veggies! We arrived as strangers but left as friends !
What a lovely peacfull location and ideally location to the Cycle Trail. Hospitality excels. We were so warmly greeted. Terry even offered to pick us up at the end of our cycle at very reasonable cost. We were reluctant to leave. Recommend this stop over to all. Cynthia & Graeme
Terry and Joan were the nicest hosts - stopped by Okaihau on the twin coast and needed a last minute place to camp. Whilst I was only there for the night, they were very accommodating. Very nice and peaceful property. Would 100% reccommend
Spent 1 night 4 August here at Pidgeons Rest. Bill did cycle trail. This is a nice peaceful and quiet location about 2k from Okaihau township right on cycle trail. Owners Terry & Joan very welcoming. Colleen & Bill. Browns Bay Auckland
Wonderful place to stay! Terry and Joan are so welcoming and have made their accommodation into a comfortable, warm, lovely place to stay! I spent 8 nights in this idyllic location and would definitely return!
Accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Hosts were beyond kind and gracious. After a long ride dinner was absolutely mouth watering and delicious. I would highly recommend Pigeons Rest as a place to stay Thank you Rae McCready
Hosts Joan and Terry couldn’t have been more helpful at Pidgeons rest pop at Okaihau . We would highly recommend a stay there. We enjoyed the peaceful location. Chris and Brett from Warkworth.
Peaceful rural camp site right on the Twin Coast Cycleway. We parked our self contained campervan on flat mown site and our hosts could not have been more accommodating providing power to recharge our bikes and a transfer back from Horeke. Such a friendly and welcoming experience.
Pigeons Rest owned by the loveliest caring couple is the ideal property to stay on to visit this area especially if you are doing the biking trail. Thanks so much Terry and Joan
