Friends, efficient workers. Coffee wasn’t great. I wasn’t particularly a fan of the bacon buttie but my friends did like it. The overall consensus was that it was pretty dry, more sauce would be good. One of my friends did get a danish and he loved it.
We have been to Picton 3 times and every visit we end up at this bakery. The menu and cake assortment just needs to be methodically gone through to try different things each time. The pepper steak and steak/cheese/bacon pies were chunky with a rich thick gravy and some of the best pastry tasted in a pie. Pretty sure we will be back there if we return again.
Only one veg pie option, but it turned out to be savory cheesey potatoey deliciousness! Really enjoyed it, but would be great to have more veg options. Also got the “award winning carrot cake” and to be honest I’m not so impressed. It’s pretty dry and too much orange flavour. Overwhelmingly orange flavoured honestly, which is not what I’m eating a carrot cake for! More like a dry spice cake.
We were drawn by the Dutch name and the Bakerij did not disappoint. Wide variety of freshly baked and interesting treats. We tried the Blueberry Muffin and Apple Crumble - both were absolutely delicious!!
This place is soooo good!! We went here for breakfast both days that we stayed in Picton and even went back again to get a sandwich for the road. So many options and the value is unmatched. If I lived here, I’d be a regular.
