Great little bakery in Picton! Fresh, tasty food, delicious pies and a good range of bakery favourites. Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. A great spot to grab a quick bite while exploring Picton. Highly recommended!
This is a good local bakery on Auckland Street in Picton. Opening hours are 6am to 3.30pm Mon to Sat, closed on Sundays. This is a take-away style bakery with some outdoor tables outside the shop.nnGood range of traditional bakery items, pies, pastries, breads, donuts, cake slices, wraps, coffees and other drinks available. We were happy with the Pepper Steak pie and chicken & pesto wrap which we enjoyed for lunch later in the day. Carrot cake was very good, moist, good texture, not too sweet and tasted great.nnQuite happy with Picton Village Bakery, would gladly stop here again to pick up breakfast or lunch foods prior to setting off on boat trips out of Picton.
I was really impressed by the variety of pies and slices available—there’s something for everyone. I absolutely loved the Chicken and Camembert pie; it was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients. Their sandwich options are just as tempting, fresh, and filling. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for a tasty and satisfying bite!
Friends, efficient workers. Coffee wasn’t great. I wasn’t particularly a fan of the bacon buttie but my friends did like it. The overall consensus was that it was pretty dry, more sauce would be good. One of my friends did get a danish and he loved it.
We have been to Picton 3 times and every visit we end up at this bakery. The menu and cake assortment just needs to be methodically gone through to try different things each time. The pepper steak and steak/cheese/bacon pies were chunky with a rich thick gravy and some of the best pastry tasted in a pie. Pretty sure we will be back there if we return again.
