One of the best pie shops out of many!!! we tried in NZ Good value, plenty of options and perfect for pre/post inter-island ferry crossing
Stopped here for a quick lunch during our visit to Picton. It was a bit busy here, like the rest of Picton, due to numerous cruise ship passengers being in town. We got three pies and two cans of drink for 26 New Zealand dollars. The staff were friendly, the pies tasted nice.
All 3 items I purchased on a weekday morning were stale. Bread and 2 sweet treats.nThe custard bread sweet treat was so far gone/stale the sides crumbled away when I tried to cut it.nI know it must be super hard to manage this sort of thing vs wastage, but I felt ripped off.nChick on the till was lovely, only reason for 2 instead of 1 stars.
A delicious experience! We had a bacon & egg pie, and a mince & cheese pie for breakfast - both with a good amount of filling and perfectly flaky/chewy pastry. We also had yesterday's sandwiches to take on a walk for lunch- the bread was still soft and there was a generous amount of ingredients. So good, highly recommend for anyone passing through Picton!
We arrived for a ferry a little early so looked for a place for lunch. Excellent choice! Superb pies and sausage rolls, all made in the bakery.
