Phuntsok Choeling Hawkes Bay Buddhist Centre is based in Napier, New Zealand follows the Mahayana teachings of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism. The Centre’s Spiritual Director Lama Choedak Rinpoche resides in Australia and regularly visits for retreats and public talks. At various times we have different visiting speakers and are open to all who wish to learn more about Buddhism, meditation and join us for spiritual practices or simply come a see what the Centre and Buddhism is about.
This centre is a place where we share Tibetan Buddhist teachings, learn from our teachers through sharing experiences, learn about the Dharma and practices with an aim of gaining knowledge and wisdom for a better life for all beings.
Phuntsok Choeling is a registered Charitable Trust and has an Executive Committee and a number of volunteers who help support the running and management of the centre.
PCL Buddhist Centre encourages people to seek peace and live the no-violent way of life, and free all beings from suffering by studying and practicing the Buddha Dharma in general, in particular the practices of the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism. PCL welcomes all Buddhists and non-Buddhists.
