I stumbled across this bookshop while searching for a specific book I wanted to read and couldn’t find in stock locally. I found the book I was looking for and at such a reasonable price too, in comparison to the chain stores. It arrived promptly with a personal note. I went back online in search of the second and third book in the series and ordered those as well. Again my parcel arrived promptly and with another personalised note. Such beautiful customer service from this store. Thank you so much.
One of the most comforting bookshops I’ve been in. Petronella’s is a true gem within Lake Tekapo and houses many fabulous reads. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in town

Cutest wee bookstore with an amazing range of interesting books on everything from astronomy to gardening, and beautiful cards, posters, postcards, journals, etc. The lady working was so lovely, gave us some old display posters with framing already on them, instead of the normal stocked ones, for no extra cost, as she said they wouldn't be going on display again. We really appreciated that and will definitely stop back in next time we find ourselves in Tekapo :
Absolutely love this bookstore and we make a point to visit every time we are in Lake Tekapo. Great children section which my daughter loves exploring. The service is always friendly and always willing to help.

We just called into the shop there and it's absolutely perfect. It's like being in a personal library with an amazing and diverse selection of books. It was difficult to choose which books to buy- I wanted at least 10. Petronella herself I think was so kind and helpful. There's even a few books with hand written cards of recommendation. A real must stop while in Lake Tekapo
The coolest wee book store that we've ever come across. A fantastic selection and the lady really knows her stuff. I can tell that we're going to have to stop here every time we pass through en route to Twizel.
Such a cute wee spot with a great selection! Can find something for everyone in this nook!! Cozy and inviting, also with gifts and artwork!! Even a used book section for a great price!! Have a good look around and you'll definitely find something you'll want to read!
A charming wee shop with a lovely atmosphere and good variety. I could have spent hours here browsing!
