We had excellent service visiting Pet Doctor's at Flagstaff.nReceptionists were friendly and our vet Fiona was very througher with our two giant breed dogs.nWe would reccomend this Vet
Our nearly 17yr old cat was dying and we all went to this vet clinic to say goodbye to her a family member drove 2hrs from out of town to be there. She had been going there all her life and they knew she wasn't well. All they could do was charge nearly $400 for less than 2 weeks of pain and suffering for her, she was very miserable, I felt so guilty when she she looked at me with such sad eyes. It was very incompassionate of them and it felt like it was all about the money and not the wellbeing of the cat. We live with our pets and we know them best. It took 2yrs to get over it, I drive past them and much further now to get my new pet looked after.
Long story, I'll try to cut it short. Took our 17 year old cat to Pet Doctors Flagstaff for a yearly flu vacation as our regular was fully booked.nSarah, the vet, checked our cat and asked a few questions. Our cat has arthritis and hyperthyroidism and was born with an erratic heart condition.nAfter giving her a checkup, she told us the best option was to euthanase her. We were completely shocked by this. We couldn't believe what she had just recommended. We had no intention of doing this and told her so. Then she recommended we put her on daily medication for life but warned we must wear gloves to apply this to her. This sounded drastic, which was a concern, so we asked what the side effects were. She couldn't/wouldn't tell us anything about them, said she'd have to look it up. We told her we'd do our own research and would leave it for now, but if she would vacinate our cat, we could take her home.nShe refused to give the flu vacation to her. Given that we were opposed to Sarah's recommendation to euthanase our cat, we were left with no other choice but to pay for her consultation and leave in utter shock and bewilderment.nOn getting home, we phoned our regular vet and explained what had happened as we were so upset. He said he would make time to see her that evening. We were so grateful for his kindness and empathy. After checking her out, he administered her flu vacation.nThat was 4 months ago. She still beats me walking up our stairs and is the happiest house cat, being spoiled and being loved to pieces.nI have attached two photos taken a month after her visit to both vets.
Pleasant and obliging staff. Great indepth consultation by the vet. Felt very comfortable with her recommendations going forward.
The vet and staff are lovely. They treat my lil dog with so much respect!
