Permadynamics is a family business
where we combine permaculture, bio-dynamics and succession dynamic to produce real food for us and the local market.
Caring for the soil, sequestering carbon, cycling water, cherishing diversity, harnessing succession dynamic and achieving natural abundance within a creative livelihood.
Permadynamics is a family business operating from a community trust in Matapouri, Northland.
Our aim is to combine permaculture, bio-dynamics and succession dynamic to produce real food for ourselves and the local market, enrich soil fertility, enhance wildlife and provide a model of productive sustainable living for education.
We have a fully functioning permaculture farm, which is intricately intertwined with multiple systems functioning as one.
We have over 30 years experience in developing land to its full potential, aiming to transform land to its highest potential and natural abundance. On our property in northland we have seen a marked increase in native fauna, including endangered birds such as Kiwi, Kereru and Tui. We have drastically transformed our clay soil into deep top soil, successfully implemented carbon sequestration techniques, and increased our soil fertility.
We offer consultancy, courses, workshops and tours.
-Incorporated into our permaculture production system are the following areas of research and expertise:
• Biogas (chorizzo type - continuous flow)
• Subtropical orchards, managed with huegelbeds and swales along natural succession and incorporation of native trees and wildlife.
• Biochar production, application and trial in market gardens to increase yield and fertility.
• Ethanol production trials from sugar cane for use in herbal tinctures.
• Essential oil production from vetiver and tea tree.
• Shiitake and oyster mushroom production.
• Disease identification and natural prevention.
. Syntropy farming (based on succession dynamic technique.)
