Story

Pennys Bookstore have been in the Chartwell Mall for 35 years. The Penny family run the Independant bookstore. We belong to the Indie book group which is a group of independant book stores in New Zealand formed to bulk purchase and advertise our businesses. Our motto is "Your independent bookstore that offers so much more." We stock a large selection of cards, magazines, puzzles, books & more. We source books from all over the world, so if you'e wanting a particular book, contact us and we can see if we can source it for you.

Penny's bookstore is an awesome shop with a great variety of gifts, books and games. Such amazing friendly owners and staff who always go the extra mile to help their customers. This is always our go to shop for presents for family and friends.
Amazing shop - purchased so many awesome things. Such fantastic variety, really good quality and some different ideas too, perfect for the birthday cards and gifts I was after. Something for all ages. The kids made purchases too, they loved it. Absolutely lovely customer service when at the counter, very welcoming, friendly, chatty and happy, nice to the kids too and patient while they went about buying their items not everywhere is with kids!, such a find as a first time customer and will be back.
I stupidly missed ticking deliver on my online order. I called to sort it and was so impressed with the service, very professional and kind.

Great bookstore with a wide range from gifts, crafts, stationary and cards to all the unique and classic reads you could want. Awesome little shop where you can always find something new or cool to take home. Great service from the friendly and helpful staff too. Definitely worth a visit.

The place to go to find that special gift. The staff are awesome. They are also good at sourcing what you can't find too but no guarantees.
