The place wasn’t fancy but was definitely fabulous! It was so clean the stainless steel benches were literally sparkling. Owners were so friendly and helpful! Amazing location just a walk into town then onto the beautiful beach.
What a lovely place. My husband and I are cycle touring and wanted to stay in town for a rest day & to miss the rain! We were walk-in customers, and luckily for us, Fred had an available room. The room was clean, tidy, and very comfortable, and Fred was very welcoming, offering to help with anything we may need. Close to town to town so shops and cafes are easy to walk to. Nice trail round the town and museum is an interesting place on a rainy day. Highly recommend this Motel.nnA further note to say a massive thank you to Fred and his family for reuniting us with our passports. They had accidentally fallen from our bag before leaving, and we didn't realise until late the following afternoon. All worked out well, and we are very grateful .
Fred looked after us when our other option was booked out.nI don’t think we could have done any better to be honest, we had a lovely cottage with one of the comfiest beds I’ve slept on since being in NZ, the Sofa Bed was good too teenager on that nLovely side verandah, a great big tv that worked, great programs on offer.nFood options in Whitianga are good and shopping as well.nnPic is of the coast somewhere between Auckland and Whitianga
Quiet and tidy room at a good price. The manager was very helpful with a cot for our baby and washing machine for us to use.
I tried to book a room at this hotel yesterday. The online price was $155, but when I called, the staff told me there was only one room left, and the price was $220 in cash. I asked why it was $220 instead of the online price, and he replied, “If you can book it online, go ahead, but I don’t think you’ll be able to.” He insisted on $220 cash. I agreed $220 and I explained that I would need to drive 40 minutes to get there and asked if he could hold the room for me, but he never confirmed whether he would and abruptly hung up the phone. I decided not to stay here because I never knew if I able to get a room after 40 mins drive, felt it’s doggy ,rip off and rude.
