Good Flat white, excellent pain au chocolate. Supposedly make a historic ham and cheese croissant which I forgot to order which gives me an excuse to go back! REVIEW UPDATE: Been here 3 times and it was the 3rd time that they had the Ham and Cheese croissant. This is a must!! If it hasn’t sold out, you need to get one. Beyond magnificent and just so good it almost brought a grown man to tears
Awesome! But wow, super busy, however worth the waiting in line for! I'm going to need to come back and keep trying everything. Huge selection, options for dine in or takeaway. This was my second visit and I really enjoyed the salted caramel pie, it looked too good not to try. Staff have things down pat, really efficient and top service, big smiles and friendly
Best coffee I’ve had after spending 9 days in NZ, both the flat white and iced black were great. Good spread of breads and pastries. Enjoyed my baguette and quiche. Had the most delightful canale as well. Definitely worth dropping by for breakfast.
Nice pastries sweet and savoury, especially almond croissant, brownie, apple tart, donut, hot chocolate is good too. Be prepared to queue, though that shows the quality of their food. And clean toilet! :
Picked up some pastries and coffees from this place since it was close to my vacation rental. Lovely selection of savoury and sweet treats, hot and cold drinks. The pastries were flaky and buttery. Coffee was great and I was impressed that the barista remembered the coffee orders of their regular customers. Worth checking out this place but be warned, there’s usually a lineup. Come early as their hours are limited.
Oh my god this place is so good! Worth the detour if you are in Wanaka or any where in the area for sure!!! Be prepared for a 10 mins line or so, which is worth it, both the sweets and savoury and world class, highly recommended!
The pastries are absolutely, beyond delicious here. And the coffee? Pairs perfectly whether getting a savory or sweet pastry. Our favorite ended up being the danishes. It's crunchy. Flaky. The custard is fabulous. The forest fruit topping was my favorite. The blueberries, the least. I got large cappuccinos and one iced mochaccino. My only wish is that there was more to sip of it. Just. Sooooo good. We spent several hours here over multiple days. The first time we stopped we built it into our bike ride along Lake Wanaka. Other days we went there to have lunch. Other times to just dessert it up and read our books. It was great to sit outside and we got lucky and were able to grab tables with shade. To get the ham and cheese croissant you gotta be there by noon or earlier as that is cutting it close. Similar on the spinach and feta. By around 1 PM you're going to be picking from "what is left of the day." Not a terrible thing, but if you have a specific craving... you better get there early. Also! Just because they don't have it out they won't make more of it. Be sure to ask! Based on people ranting and raving about it we did try the custard pastry, but didn't end up being David's favorite and for me I'm not used to the lemony topping. In Hungary we make a kremes torta which is similar to this French delicacy, but I think even better. Overall, I was excited to have something similar to my home country favorite cause in the US this custardy wonderfulness doesn't exist.
Awesome coffee perhaps the best I’ve had in Wanaka, great selection of pastries, sandwiches, and hot food. Excellent service, very friendly. Highly recommend.
We were excited about receiving some quality food and service but it was not what we received. The young lady with dark hair who served us was grumpy and unhelpful. I asked if the ham and cheese sandwich was available without the Dijon mustard to which she bluntly said no. I ordered one anyway as the selection was limited and it had no trace of any mustard!! I asked about the sizes and prices for the salad and she said she filled the bowl to the top for large and half filled it for small. For prices as was told there was sign for me to locate myself. I ordered large for $15.50 and she fill the bowl 3/4. I asked if it was large and she put some more in. Still a very small quantity for $15.50. We also order a Moroccan lamb pie had that almost had no lamb but a lot what looked like chickpeas. We then ordered some of the sweets which were all below average . The kids wouldn’t eat the chocolate donut. Extremely high cost in small town NZ for grumpy service and below average food. Best to save your money for a trip to France or Morocco or maybe anywhere other than over priced small town NZ
We ordered the mince & cheese & special chicken & mushroom and it was delicious. Absolutely fabulous food & would strongly recommend getting the custard square as well which finished off our meal nicely.
