Fantastic day out! Took my 90yr old mum and we had the best time. We loved seeing the dogs coming down to meet the mailboat to get their biscuits. Beautiful scenery and excellent friendly staff from start to finish. Thanks for a lovely day.
The Postie's day off Sunday cruise was fantastic. The skipper Ross provided great commentary of the area that covered everything from natural history, early settlement through to marine mussel farming. Learning something of early maori history in the area would have been good. Stopping off for bush walks, farm and garden tours made for an interesting day. Having a wine on the return trip was most enjoyable. Thanks to Mark as well for a most enjoyable trip. Highly recommend this cruise to others.
What an amazing day. The scenery was just breathtaking - and seeing the lovely people waiting for the arrival of their post and packages was just heartwarming. We would do this tour again in a heart beat. Remember to pack sunscreen, a hat that has a chin strap and layers of clothing. There are times on the upper deck when you think you will be blown away - but the views are just too amazing to make you retreat to the downstairs indoor deck! Thank you to everyone at The Mail Boat for one of our favorite days in NZ!
I had the pleasure of sailing out and back as a passenger with the Mail boat, as well as meeting the super friendly crew a few times weekly while I was helping out in the sounds. It was a super informative and an interesting/curious experience to see how they distributed the Mail and delivered groceries to the local islanders. Thanks for the complimentary tea and coffee too! Excellent trip. Friendly and amenable staff and crew, was a lovely way to spend a day in Marlborough. Getting to meet all the jetty dogs was an added bonus!
