I don't know how this cafe got high review. Picture does the justice it is the first cafe that got me angry with their food. Seriously the owner don't want to do business. 1 egg benedict with bacon costs 21.5 look at the bacon in pic, three tiny strips that got cut from a whole bacon slice. So tiny like the width of fingers. The husbrown supermarket ones not even fried properly, soggy and obviously been frozen and refrozen many times. The bread, cheapest bread you can buy and again soggy. Tiny eggs too. 2 the glasses are not washed properly. Got two glasses from the counter, oily dusty, gross, one even had lipsticks on. Am not sure if the cafe trying to save money and just had people soaking the dishes without property wash them. 3 the cafe is empty for a sat peak lunch time, obviously something wrong that people don't want to visit anymore. Doubt the reviews were because of previous ownership?
Happy to find a hidden gem in Kingsland. Super friendly staff and good ambience. Surprisingly quiet and cozy inside. Full of yummy looking sandwich and bakery stuff in the cabinet. Popular items on the menu as well. Egg bene and mushrooms on sourdough were delightful and coffee was thumbs up. One thing I do mind is cutlery in a jar on each table. For hygienic reasons I don't like using it.
Very nice experience, great with light meals on ZGold. Very very cheap pricing but comes with smaller portions. More than fair. I love their restaurant layout and also has a kids play area. Service: 4/5 Environment: 4/5 Presentation: 5/5 Food Quality: 4/5 Food Quantity: 5/5 Price per person: $7-$15
I was excited to try this cafe with its high google rating and toddler play area. Unfortunately, I was left very disappointed - we literally said to each other “let’s never go back” as we drove off. Since then, I’ve experienced food poisoning so definitely wouldn’t go back and have proactively told friends not to go. It was the only food I’d had before experiencing symptoms. It seemed like too big a cafe for one person to take orders, make coffee and work the kitchen which meant: - The play area was cluttered so unsure when the toys may last have been cleaned - The meals did not meet expectations. The eggs benedict had a supermarket hash brown that was soggy and the eggs weren’t cooked well. Poached eggs on toast was underwhelming - the coffee was ok and the staff member was pleasant
Cute courtyard at this cafe. Good range of items on the menu as well as some yum looking cabinet options. Portions are a reasonable size and pretty yum. There are other places for better breakfasts but I come here to sit in the back section to have a coffee and relax. Good for kids as well.
Peel To Pip in Morningside is a delightful child friendly cafe with play area. The food cabinets are laden full with delicious sweet and savoury treats. I stopped by for a soy latte and to enjoy a raspberry cheesecake brownie and I thoroughly enjoyed my sweet treat. The espresso was exceptional too. Staff was very friendly and food and beverage delivery was very prompt and efficient. I particularly liked the opportunity to donate to the NZ Blindness Society with a Credit debut card donation device at the counter.
Nice and cosy place for coffee and quick bites... the staff is so sweet and helpful every time I keep visiting it... they made great coffee, like the flat white with almond milk or soy I use to have and pretty good salads, pies and snacks... everything is great here as the prices as well... one of my favorite destinations for coffee in the area...
This cafe has a great play zone out the back for kiddies! They can keep themselves entertained the entire coffee. And beautiful food and drinks.
Food is really good, coffee is really good. And the girls that work there are always friendly and pleasant.
So dissapointed, past experiences a few years ago were great. Not so this time. Service was slack. The front of house were more interested in talking to their friends at another table than serving waiting customers. The meals were not of a standard I would expect. The avocado puree came from a packet. Meals came out separately with 10 minutes between the first and last dish. Elements were cold and over seasoned. I will never go back again. Not that the staff would know as they never checked on us.
