TomatoesnnWhile tomatoes are selling at $10 per kg or more at most supermarkets and green grocers, one can pick your own at an affordable $2.50 per kg at Pataka Berries, 768 Marshland Road.nnThis is something we did today. It was our first experience of picking tomatoes, and a good experience! Plenty of tomatoes - ripe red and raw green, acid free etc.nnWe have picked potatoes, peas, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries etc. before, elsewhere
The best ice cream I ever had , it was so fresh not too sweet. I’m glad when we saw is big billboard than we stopped here , the staff was so friendly also have a lot Christmas decorations in the shop next door. I will going back to visit for sure
Fabulous raspberry picking at a great price. Great for the kids too! We go at least once a year. Facebook updates regarding PYO each day are very helpful. Thanks Pataka!
Great and affordable summer activity with the bonus of getting a fresh punnet of berries at the end. The fresh fruit ice cream is also a gorgeous way to top off the afternoon. Highly recommended.
Had a hard time at Pataka berries today. Had no idea where to start as a first time visitor; queues everywhere and no one helping, no organisation, no signage directing where to begin. When I asked about where the berries were to pick I was told to ‘follow the crowds’;nPeople were walking out with bucket loads of berries yet we couldn’t find anything half decent anywhere even ‘following the crowds’. Small, discoloured berries and slim pickings. I was contemplating simply just walking out with nothing tbh.nCars coming in and out of the facility at the same time and I feared for safety; people driving clearly not sticking to speed limits is there even one? - suggest better traffic management. We parked on the road and walked in.nThey also did not have change - exact cash only or pay a bank surcharge for using card. Annoyingly I was 10c over and had to pay nearly 60c in bank fees yes minor quibble but I was down right annoyed at that pointnWon’t be returning.
