Patagonia Chocolates is a true gem for anyone who loves high-quality desserts and coffee. From the moment you walk in, the cozy ambiance and the enticing aroma of fresh chocolate and coffee draw you in. The decor is elegant yet welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing treat.nnThe range of chocolates is incredible — from creamy truffles to dark, rich bars, everything is handcrafted with precision and care. Their hot chocolate is a must-try, especially on a chilly day. It’s decadently rich, velvety, and perfectly balanced in sweetness.nnThe ice cream deserves a special mention too. With unique flavors like hokey pokey and salted caramel, each scoop is a delightful experience. They also cater to dietary preferences with dairy-free and vegan options.nnThe staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend pairings or answer questions about their products. The attention to detail in both service and presentation is impressive.nnWhile the prices reflect the premium quality, it’s absolutely worth it for the exceptional taste and experience. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Patagonia Chocolates is a must-visit for indulgence done right!
My Grandparents, kids and I indulged in some chocolate / ice creams post lunch at this place.nnIt had all kinds of chocolate related stuff for all likings, bars, gelato, hot chocolate, coffee, pastries, cakes and suchnnKids got chocolate and Vanilla ice creams freshly made waffle cone coated with chocolate flowing out of a fountain.nnWe tried different flavors such as coffee ice cream, strawberry ice cream cream and also their 72% dark hot cocoa with chillies.nnThey were all super delicious and my family went for a cappuccino and it was great.nnIt’s open late so would definitely recommend it after dinner! The location is most optimal with a picturesque view of the mountains and the lake!
The Dulce de Leche ice cream is to die for! There was a bit of a line to order but it gave us plenty of time to decide what flavors we wanted. The service was quick and efficient. The upstairs seating was nice and the large window had a great view of the lake. You can always watch them craft the chocolates upstairs! The atmosphere in the shop is nice and if you’d like to take your ice cream out, the lake and gardens are just a short walk away to enjoy nature. Also really enjoyed the Lemonsito De Cebu dessert—very unique and rare to find calamansi flavored treats!
Probably better to do a takeaway than to eat in as it is rather crowded.nnCame here as it is THE ice cream place to visit in Queenstown. Ordered 2 cones, a stick ice cream and a cup and a tiramisu. The queue was orderly and everyone just queued patiently and orderly, save for a few customers who were not familiar nor observant, but the wait in the queue was ard 10-20minutes.nnMaybe it’s the long queue, or the very high expectations I had from the raving reviews. The ice cream just tasted alright to me. Nothing that appealed to me that much. I took Hokey Pokey which is to me is the quintessential Kiwi flavor and tbh it did not have much of a kick to me. The chocolate flavor was alright. I am comparing to the flavors of the gelato from Venchi. However the portion was huge. A child would have difficulty finishing a cone.nnI do find the tiramisu a tad too sweet and I did not taste much of the liqueur in the tiramisu.nnThe service is the staff was ok but not smiley. I would think working in an ice creamery would have happier people from all the sugar high?nnLastly, seats are easily found but groups will just come in to sit down without asking. It will be great if customers are more conscientious.
Patagonia Chocolates in Queenstown is truly a gem for dessert lovers! Nestled by the stunning Lake Wakatipu, this boutique chocolate and ice cream shop offers a decadent experience, blending rich flavors with breathtaking views.nnThe Ice Cream Experience nPatagonia is renowned for its handcrafted, artisanal ice cream, made with high-quality ingredients. Every scoop is velvety smooth, bursting with flavor. Some of their must-try flavors include:nnDulce de Leche – A signature flavor inspired by Argentina, offering creamy caramelized sweetness.nDark Chocolate Sorbet – A dream for chocolate lovers, rich, intense, and dairy-free!nRaspberry & White Chocolate – A perfect balance of tart and sweet.nHazelnut – Nutty, creamy, and absolutely indulgent.nThey also offer churros with melted chocolate, handmade chocolates, and hot chocolate so thick it’s like drinking melted bliss!nnThe View & Atmosphere nThe upstairs seating area provides a front-row view of the lake and the bustling foreshore. Watching the shimmering blue waters with snow-capped mountains in the background while enjoying world-class ice cream? Absolutely worth the wait!
