I had a debate here, I’m from Newlands College; I wasn’t feeling too good about it because I was subbed in last minute, BUT THEY GAVE US HOT CROSS BUNS! Made me feel way better - the students and staff were friendly - seems like a good school :-
An extremely well laid-out set of buildings with lots of resources to accommodate all students. The music department is quite possibly the best you'll find in the Wellington region for a secondary school. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a college on the Kapiti Coast.
Paraparaumu College falls far below expectations, warranting a regrettable zero-star rating from my experience. The overall atmosphere within the college is distressingly lackluster, with a pervasive sense of disorganization and an apparent lack of commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Teaching standards at Paraparaumu College are alarmingly subpar, with a noticeable absence of effective communication and support for students. The educators seem ill-prepared to address the diverse learning needs of their students, leading to a frustrating and inadequate educational experience. The lack of responsiveness to these issues reflects a concerning pattern within the college, raising significant doubts about its commitment to providing a quality education. Furthermore, the college's infrastructure and facilities are in a dismal state. From outdated classrooms to poorly maintained recreational areas, the overall neglect of the physical environment is palpable. This lack of investment in creating a conducive and safe space for learning suggests a fundamental failure on the part of Paraparaumu College. In conclusion, my experience with Paraparaumu College has been overwhelmingly negative, with a lack of organization, subpar teaching standards, and a poorly maintained physical environment. I strongly advise anyone seeking a quality education to explore alternative options.
Fights happen so much people vape Classrooms not keeped up Mould in concer
Really bad so many fights and the teachers dont care about the sudents
TLDR: teachers are ok, too busy and locked bathrooms The staff are nice enough, but the hustle and bustle is just simply too intense for year 9s who are just going in. Just in the first three weeks I’ve come home crying three times from just the sheer stress that comes from college. The faculty at this college also lock most of the boys bathrooms so people won’t cape in them, leaving just one bathroom that is monitored by teachers at lunch times. My suggestion is to consider other options before going with this one.
Front desk office staff are just the best!!.... I am always greeted with such warmth & kindness. I find this very settling & thus, am immediately at ease, feeling comfortable & eager to interact with them. These College office girls are always eager to listen, help & advise accordingly... every visit is met with big smiles & happy faces... such a refreshing treat! They also look fabulous in their College staff uniform... depending on what season of the year it is, every outfit looks lovely on them! Great front desk representatives for Paraparaumu College - you rock!!
Paraparaumu College was a very good school, yes all the teachers were very friendly and helpful too, very welcoming there.
