Highly recommend, definitely worth the travel, I can see why this is in the world too 100, pure links golf to the bone.nnThe greens are fast and true so pure, the fairways tight. Incredible par 3’s in 2, 5 and 16. Love 6, 8, 10, and 15 as short par 4’s not easy though!. The 17th hole is possibly the greatest par 4 I have ever seen, genuinely incredible design. Every hole is different, interesting and requires some thought. Punishes bad shots but rewards good golf. Plays and feels completely different when the wind changes. This course could never be boring. Love it. Highly recommend. Make the effort to experience it.
Incredible links course offering a true test. Had been plenty of rain the day prior but the course held up extremely well. Greens slightly slow as a result but still true as can be.
Fantastic Course - A Must-Play in New Zealand!nnI had the pleasure of playing one of New Zealand’s top 5 courses on a perfect day with no wind and clear skies. The course exceeded my expectations, with attention to detail apparent at every level.nTee boxes were in great shape, and the fairways were excellent. Fairway to rough transitions are well-defined, but if you’re off the fairway, you’re in deep trouble! Strategy is key—knowing driving lines for approach shots is critical. If it’s your first time playing, I recommend pairing up with a member for guidance.nThe real challenge is hitting the greens in the right spots—there’s lots of roll-off that can hurt your score, as I saw on the par 3 sixteenth. The black sand bunkers are superb, and the greens were brilliantly maintained, offering great pace and roll. I would happily take these greens home with me!nIt’s also wonderful to see the natural vegetation and wetlands well preserved. Overall, a must-visit course for any golfer in New Zealand!
Bit far to travel, but the views of the ocean while enjoying a round of golf here is just amazing.
Wow! this golf course is what golf is all about. Perfect greens, friendly people, great club house and a challenge on each hole that takes you on a golfing journey through the dunes. One of the best in NZ and certainly world class. Try it for yourself you will be glad you did!
