Story

Enjoy the splendour of an isolated, unpopulated Pacific Ocean beach with a horse ride along those beautiful white sands. Imagine the sun on your skin, the wind in your face and just the sound of hoof beats and the gentle breaking waves.
Well cared for, friendly horses to suit all rider abilities from first time novice to experienced riders and well trained guides. Rides from 1 and 2 hours, half day and full day, overnight safari's, 3 day, 5 day and 7 day Coast to Coast rides are available.
A superb nature experience. We ride along beautiful Pakiri Beach, through native bush and over green farmland with magnificent sea views to the islands.
We also have an on site Cafe and Bar and Accommodation to suit all budgets.

The most stunning horse trek I’ve ever done. You can’t see this beach any other way. The guides were super friendly and take the more experienced rider for a canter if you’re keen! Horses all seemed well looked after and happy.
Stunning scenery, beach walking and river crossing makes this the best horse riding trek we’ve ever done. What made our day was that it was reasonably priced which meant we could take everyone. $80 each bit this would vary with time of year. I can’t recommend this enough. Safe and caring guides make this attainable for anyone 5 and up.
We were the only ones on the 2 hour tour which was fantastic. Our guide Julia was amazing, super friendly and gave us a lot of tips about the horses character and how we should best handle them. She chose a calm one for my less experienced partner and a more exited one for myself as an advanced rider which turned out to be the prefect choice. She showed us some nice areas in the dunes were it was very fun to canter. Julia had always an eye at us especially during Trott and Canter to ensure our safety. It was also very fun to ride through the water on the beach. Thanks a lot! Amazing experience!

We did the horse rides 5 years ago, had an amazing experience and went back there again this summer. Loved it again. The guides were very knowledgeable and nice. Friendly advise to the staff...maybe you were very busy this summer, but i think it's time to change all the boots, and maybe do better grooming of the horses.
Wow, what a memorable experience! Our daughter celebrated her 16th birthday with friends on a 2 half day horse ride and 1 overnight stay at their bunk house. Everyone had an awesome time, the beach was beautiful, the horses were clean and healthy and the staff/owner were super friendly and professional. Each day we rode on a different track, through the river, along the beach and in the bushes. We would recommend this to all.
Amazing ride- 1 hr- the perfect way to see pakiri beach. Would take any out of town visitors as really an incredible experience. Recommend to all. Not that we didn’t get away till 10.30 for the 10 am ride and by the time we finished it was 11.45 off the horses and leaving so allow two hours.
Amazing experience, best horse riding place I have ever been
Unique, and happy to cater around all riders. Having ridden multiple treks through the country, this is the first trek I've had where basic paramount instructions were given on safe riding before mounting. Not just for the safety of the rider, but also instructions on how to keep the horse comfortable. It occurred to me that every trekking company should be doing this. Its a simple thing but really sets Pakiri Horse Treks apart with their attention to details and the passion they have to be able to share what they enjoy with others.
Such a happy accident that I ended up here with my 10yr old daughter. We had a truely superb time. Stunning location, beautiful horses, and such a relaxed atmosphere. Tessa took us on a great beach ride that will be in our memories for a long time. we will be coming back for sure.
