As a tourist , pak’nSave was a delightful experience .we were able to buy groceries for our Airbnb stay ay Napier
Busy supermarket, good product range & cheap prices. They had an excellent range of warm - ready to eat meals for around $7 - $9 which is great if you're in a campervan or on a budget. Meals like Spaghetti Bolognese, roast chicken & potatoes n gravy & veggies etc...
Bad experience at the checkout.nnThe cashier a young blonde woman accused my partner of being drunk, claiming he smelled strongly of alcohol, which was absolutely not the case. We had to deny it several times to the supervisor before she finally accepted what we said — but she still gave us a suspicious look and made a few remarks under her breath to her colleague, which she probably thought we couldn't hear.nnWe found this very disrespectful and not worthy of the PAK'nSAVE service, a store we know quite well by now.nIt was a brief moment but a very uncomfortable one.
Incredibly helpful young man with blue ponytail. He was leaving for the day, but stopped to help us without being asked while he was doing his own shopping and directed us to the correct aisles
