Amazing location. Rooms great. Hot pools exquisite. Food even better than Auckland and staff excellent and friendly. Very popular so book early. First floor rooms literally meters from pool and hot pools. Love Rooms: 5/5
Did not live up to my expectations. Have always thought this place looked top notch , finally got to stay and was mildly disappointed. The staff including the spa were helpful and lovely. But the whole place inside and out needs a lot of TLC. Apparently new owners have put off the maintenance. Not to say it wasn't worth it, as the rooms were nice as were beds but just lacking in the final details of finesse. This is a lovely location and short walk to go out for dinner etc.
Start of stay was not great, as we were told upon arrival at 2 pm, that our room was not ready and would not be ready for another 20 minutes. We had traveled from out of town. Returned to be told it still wasn't ready, we were then late to our couples massage. Aside from that, room was wonderfully clean and had an amazing view on the third floor. Pool was great and our massage and pedicure for me was amazing.
Don’t get me wrong the Paihia Beach Resort and Spa is a great place to stay. The staff are friendly and attentive, the spa was absolutely AMAZING, the food was FANTASTIC and the facilities are SUPERB. However, just some constructive feedback; I wouldn’t call this a resort. I would suggest that the owners/management take more pride in their business. Like getting rid of the dirty rust stains off the tiles next to the pool, cleaning the outside umbrellas that are covered in mould and dirt, creating an entrance that doesn’t look like a trailer park, having guest parking instead of street parking especially when you have the space and being a little more attentive with services like proper room cleaning and an after hours menu - especially when it’s advertised. Overall we had a wonderful time but there is definitely some love needed and attention to the finer details in order to call it a ‘resort’. We will definitely be back though! Especially for the food, the view and the massages
Three stars because it over promises and under delivers. It could be so lovely … great position, nice facilities, and the Spa is indeed excellent separately reviewed. But there is no way this place is 5 star. The rooms are tired and in desperate need of maintenance, woodwork water damaged, moth eaten carpet patches, windows stuck shut. The public areas not regularly cleaned mess on the stairwell took 3 days to be vacuumed. Restaurant is pretty good, but not 5 star either. The staff told us that a refurb is planned for July this year, not before time. Not sure we would stay again - but we would visit the spa.
Service was efficient & friendly. Breakfast was included in our room rate and we loved it each morning . Big shout out to Jess for making us feel so welcome & for sharing her local knowledge. Reception staff were also friendly & informative Rooms: 5/5
Our stay at this hotel was disappointing and not the relaxing experience we had expected for. We spent one night in a spa studio on the top floor with beautiful views from the balcony and two nights in a Superior Suite separate bedroom with kitchen/living/dining space. The rooms are tired and not very clean cobwebs and dead bugs in both rooms. The superior suite was moldy and again the same issue as others have stated in previous reviews were water would run out of the bath/shower and soak the floor due to the poor design. Entry to the hotel is a disgrace and near impossible due to a dispute with a private landowner. We ended up damaging our car due to the tight space and a single black metal pole being placed in the driveway as part of a dilapidated divider fence the private landowner has constructed. The hotel staff were very apologetic but obviously could not do much about it. I understand this is not ideal for the hotel but I do think this is a huge inconvenience for guests and the hotel should take more responsibility to rectify this issue and have a better solution in place. We really enjoyed the pool and heated spa pools but would say that was probably the best thing about our stay. The staff were friendly and professional but I would not say this is a 5-star hotel.
Really disappointed with our recent stay. For over $630 for two nights and advertising themselves as a 5 star stay we were expecting a beautiful stay on a recent work trip. Unfortunately this was not the case at all and after numerous attempts to talk to the manager and having no replies I am having to leave this review. Our room was really unclean, very banged up walls and flooring , hairs on the bed, moldy curtains, cobwebs, a visit from two cockroaches and then even a flooded bathroom on the morning we first used the showers. We ended up having to leave after the first night because it was so bad yet have not even been fully refunded for the night we didn't stay there. We visited reception multiple times for help and not one person came up to the room from the desk apart from a cleaner who popped up for 1 minute to dust the cobwebs when we first arrived and noticed the state of the room, there was no suggestion to even change our room while they recleaned it as they weren't fully booked either. Even when advised that my mum couldn't shower because there was a bad leak coming from the bath/vanity no one came up to help us. I wouldn't suggest staying here at all, they are overcharging heavily for what you get in both the room and service. Our trip ended being incredibly stressful trying to find other accommodation at short notice for our last night.
Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel. The room had all the amenities that we needed and so much more. The staff were courteous and went out of their way to look after us and took care of every detail. Will be back, thank you.Rooms: 5/5
After a long drive from Matakana, we were looking forward to a relaxing start to our Honeymoon. It wasn't to be. Due to an ongoing dispute with a neighbouring private landowner, entry to the Motel was near impossible, due to the metal barriers he put into place, to deliberately inconvenience guests. We had massive problems, as did many others, accessing the underground carpark. Because of this, we got stuck & had great difficulty maneuvering out. It is unclear also, as to how to even enter the Motel in the first place lack of signage without other obstacles being put into place. There were only about 5 or so car spaces under the building anyway, so everybody else would be forced to park out on the street. The Duty Manager did apologise, but said he couldn't do anything about it. We were told to ENTER AND EXIT via the EXIT during our 3 day stay, which is also poorly sign posted. Level 4 never had night lights on outside, so we used our cellphones lights to find our way from the lift, along the corridor to our room. Rooms are ok but could use an upgrade, some areas are scruffy & out-dated. Cane tables on each balcony make it impossible to balance a drink on. A flat surface would be far easier. The highlight of this Motel, would definitely be the pool and the spa pools, they were divine. Location is good, but we would not stay here again as it wasn't the relaxing experience we expected.
